Taiwan's UDN has reported that filmmakers of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 3 and the prequel to THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS are interested in Michelle Yeoh to star in their films.

While in Cannes, Yeoh met with producers from the two films to discuss her possible roles in the projects. She is "interested in both but the filming schedules are somewhat in conflict." Apparently, the producers are talking to one another, since neither of them wants to give up on casting her.

Prequel? Besides RED DRAGON and MANHUNTER? Is this going to be like Highlander sequels? "Y'know, I didn't like what the last guy did. Let's make a new one and pretend the last one didn't happen." Count me out of this one.

Well you probaly just like to cry for the sake of complaining.

Red Dragon and Manhunter were both adaptations of the same book, which was written before Silence of the Lambs, so you can't REALLY call it a money-grubbing prequel. This new project, though ... Hannibal was awful enough, and it was based on a book, too ... how bad will this series get if they strike out on their own?

The prequel is going to be based on the forthcoming book by the author of the series, Thomas Harris. If anyone's "money-grubbing," at least the original author is in on the act and contributing to the story. His new book, Behind the Mask, follows the formative years of Mr. Lecter - from youth in one of the Baltic countries to just before Red Dragon. It's due in bookstores in October.

Screw Lecter. Do we need another gay serial killer movie, if so John Wayne Gacey deserves a turn. Kirstie Alley could play him. Why not a Clarice Starling movie. His formative years --such big words. I done guess you be meaning his you youth.

So then wouldnt this be a prequel to Manhunter or Red Dragon then. A good scene would be Lecter trapped in an elevator as a kid at a taping of Barney and he eats some of his fellow audience members while trapped. Make him a diabetic and his blood sugar is low so he needs to get it up and flesh is the only thing near.

You know I think this sounds really friggin cool, my only worry is that they're going to try and get Anthony Hopkins to play Lecter for the majority of the movie. I liked Red Dragon, but digitally un-aged Anthony Hopkins didn't suit me well enough to have a movie based around the almost digital actor.

Dietvanilla, "formative years" are big words for you and you "done think" they mean "youth." How very sad and wrong you are. How is the public school system these days? Does your mother (that means "mama") know that you're posting this late? While you may "done guess" that "formative years" means "youth," you would be mistaken. One (that means "you') may assume that "youth" is what it means, however, in a literal translation, "formative years" simply means the years in which one is "formed," implying, of course, the "forming" of one's personality. This could cover any period that causes a change or defining of one's personality that affects for years to come. Again, though, "formative years" usually does imply "youth." For instance, your "formative years/youth" would "done be" that time period during which your father (that means "pappy") taught you the love of buggery (that means "the love of the ass"). On that topic, by the way, if it's casting for another "gay serial killer movie" that you're doing, perhaps you should consider yourself; you've certainly some of the credentials for the role. If you can take a moment to break away from "pappy's" tender embrace, you should try to get some sleep - fifth grade summer school will be quite strenuous for you tomorrow and you'll be required to sit still, no matter what your "pappy" did to your posterior (that means "ass") the previous evening.
