Hey SC, sorry I didn't see this message.
My point is, why would they cover it up? Mistreating people of color wasn't really looked down upon back then. If there was a concerted effort to spread plague blankets there'd be a paper trail somewhere, I don't think they'd be too concerned with posterity to hide it. Hell, if it was that easy, they'd have made it policy.
You don't need to preach to me about the evil things our country has done to people, especially not to our Native People. I had an ancestor, an Eastern Band Cherokee, lynched by a mob of soldiers during the Civil War for defending his home. Then there's forced removal 30 years before that. I also had a great great grandfather sold into indentured servitude as an orphan "adopted" off of an orphan train in the late 19th century.
You want a book recommendation, try "Lies My Teacher Told Me" by Dr. James Lowen. Great read. "1491" is good too as is "Guns, Germs and Steel". I'll see if I can find your book, thanks.

Yeah, no documentation of the US Government doing something as heinous as giving out infected blankets must mean that it never happened...going by that logic, they never do ANYTHING bad. There would be no need for black ops or secret missions, because all the US Government does is deliver sunshine and kittens to everybody around the world.
If you want to learn about some of the stuff that our government continues to perpetuate, check out a book called Everything You Know is Wrong...it's not ramblings of madmen, despite what the title sounds like. Everything is entirely researched and backed up with sources and documentation provided. Did you know that the current method of taxation is technically illegal? It was never actually voted into law by anybody.
