It's worth a rental. Funny they don't mention that Rome guy from Journeyman is the villain in this.

where'd this come from? was it a theatrical release or a made for sci/fi miniseries or a direct to dvd flick or from HBO or Showtime?
I've never heard of it.

mckracken, this was a European production which was released to the USA in August. It tanked in the US, opening to $2.7M and eventually making about $6M domestically, $24M in total (mostly in Europe, where it had some moderate success in Spain, Italy, and Russia). It definitely did run in US theaters, though with virtually no hype or fanfare - it was one of those "blink-and-you-miss-it" sort of movies.

I barely caught it in the theater.

It definitely doesn't feel like that large a film, and hovers just almost down into the B fantasy category - I guess an argument could be made it belongs there.

I really enjoyed the film, but I had fairly low expectations going in. It's not a big siege battle movie, its not the set piece battles. It doesn't actually have "magic" in it. But I think many will find it passably fun.
