I just watched this trailer. It got me pumped up, but hasn't really done anything to alleviate my fears about the rumored events of the script. It still looks like...

****spoiler alert****

Slim dies. I will still be there opening day, but this better have something more than what the leaked script has promised. Three deaths, possibly 4.

I have mixed feelings about the trailer. The movie appears to be mostly action driven rather than story or character driven. This is unlike the first two films, and probably not a positive turn of events.

I liked the trailer for what it was worth. It got somewhat overdramatic, but it was generally effective and it raises my interest in this movie. I'll admit I'm not a big fan of Brett Ratner's work. In fact, when I heard he was chosen to direct X-Men 3, my initial reaction was something in the field of: "oh shit." I'm sorry, but it says something about a director when their best movie is Rush Hour (1). However, I don't believe it's fair to jump down this or any movie's throat prematurely and I'll keep an open mind. I liked the trailer, and I hope I'll love the movie. But even if this movie does turn out bad, at least fans will have the first two to enjoy.

i don't see why everyone hates what is happening. the director is descent, yes the script was rushed, and he entered with virtually no time to get ready. not to mention bryan singer gave him the vote of approval. if anyone is to blame if the film goes south is fox, for wanting to get back at singer for leaving. that's what this is really about. so give the film a chance. remember the first one? everyone said it would stink, and look, a franchise was started. so, take it with a grain of salt.

I'm going to say the same thing I'm saying about the new Bond, let's just give it a chance. The trailer looked pretty good. Of course they're not going to show the character side of the story in the trailer b/c that's not what the average person is going to go to the movie to see. What I AM worried about are the deaths; yes, it's a different universe than the comics, but I still don't like it when they veer so far off. That's my biggest gripe with this and with Superman Returns.

And if you say you aren't jazzed to see the Danger Room, a fastball special and an all-out mutant beat-down, then you're a frickin' liar.

I thought the trailer looked great! Parts 1 and 2 were very good movies, IMHO, but a little short on all out action for me. Part 3 looks like Ratner ramped up the action a lot. I can't wait to see it, especially with all of the mutant cameos. This movie will rock!

Okay, maybe I'm gonna be the only one here, but I thought that preview looked awesome. I'm all in favor of more action at this point in the series. We've had two great movies that developed characters for us, and now we have some action spectacle for the summer. I don't have an opinion on Brett Ratner as a director...the Rush Hour films were enjoyable popcorn fare...and I know that I will be at X3 opening weekend, much like everyone else here...whether you sneak in or not...why because we don't get comic book movies that often...Spiderman is probably the best of the kind with X-men just below it. Daredevil, Elektra and Punisher are at the bottom of the barrel begging for air, with the Fantastic Four using them as a buoy...so that's my 2 cents for what it's worth...

I am looking forward to it. Heck, even my wife is excited, so the trailer did enough to spark her attention. I also agree with riley74, the last 2 movies developed characters and relationships, this one should be fine.

Hell yeah! X3 looks incredible. I think Ratner is going to really deserve an apology from everyone when all is said and done.
