Plot Summary: Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson). Smart is partnered instead with the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). Given little field experience and even less time, Smart--armed with nothing but a few spy-tech gadgets and his unbridled enthusiasm--must thwart the doomsday plans of KAOS head Siegfried (Terence Stamp).

Get Smart will hit theaters June 20, 2008.

I had serious doubts about this movie, but those trailers have really got my attention.

This might actually be good.

after watching the trailer, i have no doubts, sucks ! johnny english was already done, that s guy maybe funny, but his not jim carrey, and his not mr bean....why walking an other comics setps, he must find his own way.....

Steve Carell is the only actor who I think could honestly pull off Maxwell Smart. Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler would've made the movie more about them than anything else. Carell keeps what made Smart funny in the original show, and I love how he uses the timeless "Missed it by that much!" line.

I also love how everybody plays things fairly straight in the trailer, which really is in keeping with what I once heard Carell say comedies need to do more often. He said it's funnier if characters in a movie don't know they're in a comedy (The Office certainly falls in that category), and I absolutely agree with him. I think Get Smart will be a sleeper movie this summer, but I'm worried it may get lost in the shuffle of Hulk, Wall-E, Hancock, Indiana Jones, and Dark Knight.

EXFAN-- i try REALLY hard to respect other people's opinions...but if you can compare johnny english to GET SMART, your out of your mind. get smart came decades prior, had BRILLIANT comedy, and was created by MEL BROOKS.

I'm really excited for this movie-- the international trailer was posted a few weeks ago and also looked great.

I grew up arond the block from Anne Hathaway...she is another case of Hollywood making chicks look hot,,,she is not ugly, but not a total hottie. When you see her walking her dog in sweats, not so much,,,,The Rock is always good, and I think Steve Carrell is funny as hell....I have hopes for this.

I don't like it, they need to make it cheeser.

I don't see how anyone can compare Get Smart ( an American classic as far as sitcoms go) to the piece of shit that was Johnny English.
Agree, Carrell is the perfect fit for this role. The trailers just keep building up my hope that this will be really good.
Whiskey, what're you doing? You're ruining my fantasy. Hell, I'll just try to picture her the way she looked in Havoc, hot, hot, hot.
