We've entered the final two weeks before 20th Century Fox unleashes Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class into theaters. It seems that one of the last TV spots to hit their marketing campaign caters to all the action genre fans out there willing to shell over their cash on June 3. Check out the new spot down below and sound off with your thoughts. The studio also revealed three new clips last week, which you can check out here.
The adventure tale stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Kevin Bacon, Edi Gathegi, Bill Bilner, Jason Flemyng, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily and Zoe Kravitz. Helmer Vaughn led the direction, based on a screenplay by Josh Schwartz, Jamie Moss, Ashley Miller, Zack Stentz and Jane Goldman.
Plot Concept: "X-Men: First Class" charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.
Just looks better all the time. And how about all the extremely positive buzz from practically all who have seen the movie already. I guess some of us may have been right in thinking this would be the best X film aside from X-2. Then again although the others were good they weren't great. Still pumped to see this
I saw this ad on t.v the other night, and I'm really quite up for this. Who was that who dropped after teleporting? It looked like a version of Nightcrawler! I didn't really mind the other X-men films and own them all, just thought they focused on Wolverine a bit too much. Will prob see this at the flicks its def not a wait and see job.
As an X-Men fan, I'll definitely watch this the first weekend it comes out. I love this tv spot but I hope the the entire movie doesn't upset. I'm sure it'll be better than X3. I hope somehow they introduce the younger versions of some of the other more familiar X-Men also.
Yeh thanks all, I gathered the comics don't match with the films (thanks to the fox) I've seen all the anger on these boards. I meant I just don't really know many X-men characters apart from the likes of wolverine, cyclops ya know the main, more commercial lot. I also am looking forward to Magneto chuckin some metal bigtime!
I'm not a total X-fanatic like some (I have a buddy who's a TOTAL X-Maniac) so I enjoy the X films for what they are and am not over concerned about continuity or anything like that. I think it looks pretty good. I love that, even though I've seen Thor three times, I still have Green Lantern, X-Men and Captain America to look forward to this summer. It's a bonanza for superhero lovers this year!
