Laurence Fishburne to voice The Silver Surfer

According to Variety, Laurence Fishburne has signed on to voice the Silver Surfer in the upcoming Fox film, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

The site also mentions that it has not been decided as to whether Galactus will speak in the film.

The film hits theaters on June 15, 2007.

I second that choice and though it has been said many times in the past I was mildly impresses with the first but then it grew on me when the dvd came out..So let's hope that a good kick ass action movie takes place in the second one...

This is cool news. He definitely has the right voice for the Silver Surfer.

I do hope that Rise is a little more action packed and cooler than the first which was a decent "popcorn" movie but was kind of lacking that "thing".

Gotta say it again, every time another story comes down about this movie the news is better and better.... If you walk into this one having seen the first and knowing what to expect it should be a fun ride. I know I'll be there.

This is perhaps the ONLY good news lately. Word out of AICN is that Galactus will appear..as a cloud. The first FF was borderline watchable/schumacherish. It would have to be a EMPIRE/T2/ALIENS quality of a sequel to get me to pay $9.

Fishburne has a great voice, so I like that choice, but Galactus as a cloud? I really want this movie to be great, but the more I read the more worried I get. I agree with those who say Galactus' look from the comics might not work well on the big screen, but a cloud? That's just cheesy. Please tell me he's not going to look like the planet-bound entity from Star Trek V! I'm still trying to stay positive about this movie, because I thought the first one was a fun summer popcorn movie, but exepct a better movie from the sequel.
