Anne Thompson at Variety chatted up producer Thomas Tull at Legendary Pictures before the run-up to Comic-Con. Legendary is, of course, the mini-studio behind 'The Dark Knight', 'Watchmen' and the planned sequel'Superman: The Man of Steel'.
Thompson reports that Legendary is hearing pitches from screenwriters on where to go next with Superman.
"It's an iconic character," says Tull. "After everything that went into the first film, it's important to make sure that nothing is rushed and we come out with a fantastic second film."
The prevailing wisdom seems to be that the Man of Steel face a "worthy opponent," in the follow up.
Bryan Singer is still mentioned as being the director of choice. The article refutes rumors that Louis Leterrier may be a contender for the franchise. The 'Incredible Hulk' director is currently focused on Ledendary's 'Titans' movie.
