Please Please don't $%^& this up. I love all the Evil Dead movies and own all of them i will be greatly displeased if this movie gets screwed up.
TriStar and Ghost House Pictures have found their female lead star for the Evil Dead remake, with Deadline reporting that Jane Levy ("Shameless," "Suburgatory") is coming on board. She joins the production a day after Shiloh Fernandez hopped on board as central male character and is a replacement for the exiting Lily Collins, who had to exit out after scheduling conflicts.
Director Fede Alvarez will begin shooting in New Zealand shortly based on a screenplay by Rodo Sayagues and some rewrites by Diablo Cody. The original's producers Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are overseeing development while their Ghost House Pictures partners Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane are in as executive producers.
Levy will play Mia, one of five friends holed up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead. A demonic force is unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival.
Evil Dead arrives in theaters on April 12, 2013.
Director Alvarez has also revealed a set photo of the forest landscape where they plan to shoot the remake. Check it out below.

This should not NOT NOT NOT be a remake. It should be a continuation. Ash's Daughter ASHLEY come looking for her dad. SMart wont give her his retirement benifit check she needs him to sign papers for Power of Attorney so she can keep paying for the old log cabin in the woods he's hiding out in. He bought the place so he could stand as the last line of defense against the Deadites all these many years. He's collected all the pages from the Book of The Dead that have been scattered across the world since Army of Darkness. (if you go with the Theatrical ending it's easier to assume he's been back in contemporary timeline, If you go with alternate ending you have to assume he found a mystic that could send him back to the correct point in his history so he is still back here in this time. which would make another whole ASH storyline.) Ashley shows up just as his research goes awry and he is sucked into the time portal again. (Bruce Campbell Cameo Satisfied) Now she is left here alone to deal with the Deadites the way Daddy Dearest raised her to... Hilarity Ensues!
There, in less than 1000 words I've come up with a simple solution that allows the EVIL DEAD Franchise to continue without a REBOOT or a REIMAGING or any other hack job. should satisfy the purests like me and the newcomers that are clueless anyway. I'm BEGGING MANIA to give me Raimis email so I can tell him what an awful idea a REBOOT would be... Hell I'll write the Alternate Ending bridge story that tells how Ash gets back from the future if they need it. I'll write anything they want and it'll be better than a REBOOT. My cat can write better stuff than a reboot in his litterbox.
Among other reasons, the simple fact that Diablo Cody is involved is enough to keep me away from this. Two words: Jennifer's Body.
Trollman not a bad idea... but I think with Raimi and Campbell at the helm we are gonna get some goodness no matter what direction they take. Remember that the original was not supposed to be as funny as it was. It just kind of fell that way... perhaps we'll get to see Raimi's original vision.
She's a cutie. I'm glad they didn't opt for a chick with a jaw like Bruce Campbell since she is supposed to be the new Ash in this remake
