Levy Will Delve Into MAGICK

Shawn Levy has picked up the script BACK MAGICK. Levy and Tom McNulty will produce.

The fantasy comedy centers on an unpopular boy who, in a misguided effort to improve his seemingly unspectacular life, makes a series of wishes during an eclipse. The wishes don't come true until 20 years later, disastrously upending his successful life.

Levy is currently directing A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM.

Well, to be fair, this sounds a bit different. In BIG, we have a boy who wishes to be big because he believes that will solve all his problems. This creates grown-up problems that a 10 year-old cannot cope with. However, this is a mature man dealing with desired solutions to problems he no longer has.

I'm just saying I don't think the two concepts compare.

So... Big is about a kid who makes a wish. So, of course, you can never make a movie about a kid making a wish ever again? How does that work? They're completely different.

I think it's a great idea, and a plot that has a lot of potential, if they do it the right way. I'm interested to see what comes of it.
