Clash of The Titans II: The Wrath of Kraken?

Weeks after reports surfaced that director Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) was circling Warner Bros. Pictures' planned sequel for Clash of the Titans, Heat Vision reports the deal is done and the helmer is on board the project. Unlike the recent remake by Louis Leterrier, the next installment will be shot with 3D technology instead of converted in post production.
Liebesman had been in contention to nab the directing gig since early June, with negotiations stretching through the summer. Money was a factor, as was the hurdle of overcoming the negative perception of this year's initial installment. The movie, a remake of the 1981 original, became a worldwide hit for Warners, grossing more than $491 million, although it garnered many negative reviews.
The studio hopes to turn that around this time around by properly shooting it in 3D and by bringing in some notable writers to flesh out the script. Those include Greg Berlanti (Green Lantern), Dan Mazeau (The Flash, Jonny Quest) and David Leslie Johnson (Red Riding Hood).
Sam Worthington and Gemma Arterton are among the actors expected to return for the second installment.
gutsmgee amen brother this is a stand alone story as it is and now they want a sequel?
Maybe they'll tell the same story from the Roman God's point of view......lol.
WTF?! A) it's a stand-alone story. B) I thought this movie pretty much tanked at the box office. How the F are they green-lighting a sequel?! <sigh>
The movie that proved Sam Worthington can't act unless someone makes him into a pixar character.
As of this writing it's the 7th highest grossing movie of the year mainly due to overseas numbers. That's why you are getting a sequel, not because it was good...which it wasn't.
Whew!..Thank Goodness Hollywood has our children and the overseas market to exploit now that we're old enough to see it, If they didn't, they might have to start justifying their failures....lol
160 millions can't be considered a tank job when the budget was 125. Then add 300mil plus from overseas, nah, that's a certified hit at almost 500million. What you think every movie is going to do Avatar numbers from now on?
I'll be looking forward to this sequel. Send the characters on a new adventure and yes film it all in glorious 3D
I gotta agree with you Wiseguy. While it wasn't the greatest of movies, I had fun watching it. There are so many great creatures and myths to include in a sequel so I'm looking forward to what they come up with. I just hope these new writers can breathe some life into the flat characters from the first.
I am glad. Great movie. I did not mind the 3d. "Release more Krakens!"
