Source: E! Online

E! Online's Kristin Veitch reported today that sources from ABC have told her, the network will be making an announcement declaring an end date for LOST in the next few days. The exact number of remaining episodes and seasons is still unclear though —and there might not even be exactly two full seasons.

Per her article, the producers can finally can start mapping out the remaining episodes and rolling out some of the major reveals and answers the fans have been waiting for.  More big changes are in store including what is being called a "massive, mind-blowing, cast-related 'game-changer'."

Word is also going around that LOST may move to an earlier time.

This is a non news story. Come back when you have something definite.

jppintar326 are you a Star Trek fan?

This is like telling all the secrets of the island compared to the "neews" we get for the next Trek film.

whats lft to show regarding Locke and Sawyer's flashback stories? wherent they wrapped up nice and tight on Wedneday night?

I know this is not going to sit well with some people considering the X-Files failed in it's attempt at the box office but I would like to see something huge and exciting with this masterpiece take place on the big screen for it's grand finale...
Of course that is just me...

I'm not sure Sawyer's story is really wrapped up. He hasn't undergone a big change. If he didn't kill Cooper and allowed him to live, he would have been a very different Sawyer than who he was when he arrived on the island. I think Locke's story will end this season. I see this heading to a big conflict with Locke and everyone else.
The news of the show ending after about two more seasons is old news, I thought. I've always heard that there were plans for about 5 seasons. It feels about right with where everything is. I've read that there will be four deaths before this season ends. I wonder who will make it to season 4 and who won't.

This is a non news story because Lost is not in danger of being cancelled this year. I don't really care that Lost will end its run in two years. In two years, I will care.

As for the next Star Trek, I am a fan but I don't like the ideas I am hearing for the next film. Kirk and company have been there, done that. The Earth Romulan war would be more interesting or going ahead to the 25th Century and beyond.

I seem to remember reading an interview with either Carlton Cuse or Damon Lindelof that the whole plan for the show was to do five seasons and then cap it off with a movie. I think that's a solid plan and if the show rolls on for two more years that would give the writers the adequate time to address all the lingering plot threads (Lord knows there's dozens of those) and build to a climactic film. They sure are doing a heck of a job right now in terms of building suspense and intrigue leading up to this season's finale. Something BIG is coming Lost's way and I can't wait to see what happens on May 23!

ya i thought they had already announced the series would end @ 100 episodes and then a movie. Perhaps they changed their minds? But this article is like all the presidential candidates who called press conferences to say they would hold a press conference at a later date to say if they were running, jeesh

Good news. Looking forward to a focused story arc to take us through to the end.
