Lima Helming Spook's APPRENTICE

Kevin Lima (Enchanted) is set to direct Spook's Apprentice for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, reports Variety. Lima flew out to London last week to begin prepping for the upcoming children's fantasy, originally adapted by Matt Greenberg. Thunder Road's Basil Iwanyk is producing with Lionel Wigram and Lima's producing partner, Chris Chase. Alysia Cotter, who brought the project to the studio before she joined Legendary, is executive producing.

Plot Concept:
Based on the adaptation of Joseph Delaney's children's book, "Spook" is the first in the six-part Wardstone Chronicles, about a 13-year-old boy named Thomas Ward who learns about wizardry from a forbidding old spook. Thomas Ward is the seventh son of a seventh son and has been apprenticed to the local Spook. The job is hard, the Spook is distant and many apprentices have failed before Thomas. Somehow Thomas must learn how to exorcise ghosts, contain witches and bind boggarts. But when he is tricked into freeing Mother Malkin, the most evil witch in the County, the horror begins ...

Not one comment talking about how this sounds like an exact replica of The Seeker vs. Harry Potter...

Or is too early and the comments are waiting to come? Or is that this is in Feature slot #12?

I know I was thinking it when I read the plot concept.

I don't see any relation of this to Harry Potter other than the word "Wizardry".
