The Lincoln Trailer

You asked for it Maniacs

All right Maniacs this one bends the genre we cover, a lot. However, many of you have been sending in notifications of Lincoln’s teaser, photos, and the trailer to the office. With that much demand we have decided to post the trailer for those that wish to talk about it.

The film does look incredible and it is directed by one of our favorite directors.

Here is the official word on Lincoln from Disney and Dreamworks: “Steven Spielberg directs two-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis in Lincoln, a revealing drama that focuses on the 16th President’s tumultuous final months in office. In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come”.

The film stars: Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Spader, Hal Holbrook and Tommy Lee Jones.

It is directed by Steven Spielberg, produced by Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy, and is based on the book “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

It will of course feature a score by John Williams.

The film is not yet rated.

Lincoln arrives November 9, 2012 (exclusive); November 16, 2012 (expansion).

Over/Under on Oscar Nominations?

RobertTrate 9/14/2012 7:40:52 AM

Agreed... I feel like we should just give it him the Oscar now (Lewis).

This looks beyond amazing...this looks like Spielberg's best work, can't wait to see this.

VTGamehendge 9/14/2012 7:56:46 AM

They filmed some of this here in Richmond.  Really put a kink in the schedules of people who live in areas where they were filming.  Couldn't hardly get anywhere in certain parts of the city.

Kinda surprised Tom Hanks didn't get a part in this considering how he and Spielberg are practically attached at the hip.

And considering Tom Hanks was just down in VB a few months back.  Sure they could have found a way to fit their scheduled together.

But was it true DDL took up residence somewhere in the East End?  Heard he was living in Church Hill or something like that with no power and outdoor plumbing.

Oh! This is a movie about when John Gotti beat that guy up outside the phone both coz his Lincoln was double-parked.

Guy: "Da Lincoln"

Gotti: "What Lincoln?"
