Took the kids to see Zathura this weekend and they enjoyed the movie a lot. I thought it was just ok. I'm glad to see Saw II's made over $70 million. I'm still disappointed in Zorro.

I saw Zathura this weekend and enjoyed it quite a bit. I think it really is the sort of movie that a lot of kids could relate to. As an adult, I liked the visuals quite a bit, and it was nice to see some good old fashioned Stan Winston creatures roaming about instead of all-CGI for a change. I also just loved the look of the 1930s tin litho game board - as an admirer of the tin toys of that era, I really wish such a game actually existed!

I have to echo Wessmith on Zorro... disappointed... I was looking for more of the edgy fun they had in the first film... this one seem more bickering and less fun.

I still haven't seen Zorro but my mother told me she loved it, so I guess they are going for the 50 and up demo. Her enjoying it makes me want to miss it entirely. I liked the 1st one, but I think they waited too long for a sequel. I hate the fact that Get Rich or Die Tryin even made it into the top 10, but I'm not surprised. We`ll see how it does next week. I`m just glad it wasn't number 1. I know 50's life story. I don't need to see it on the big screen or in a video game. I got it. You were shot 9 times and survived. Get over it.

Also, just seeing the title of "Zathura" kept making me think of Zathrus from B5... I kept thinking, "Zathras say don't play game... but, no one listen to poor Zathras."

How can I possibly take "Zathura" seriously... I can't... I would probably sit in the theater with Zathras running through my head and laughing inappropriately at various times.
