Today, May 10th, Universal Studios, is streaming their live US premiere of Peter Berg’s Battleship. The board game brought to life squares the USS Missouri and her crew against a hostile alien force. The battle for Earth has begun and it begins at sea.

Fans can tune into the official livestream of the red carpet premiere on the BATTLESHIP Facebook page via NowLive’s streaming platform.

Time: Thursday, May 10th at 6:00P PT/9:00P ET

Place: via the Battleship Facebook page or below

Plot: Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force.  Inspired by Hasbro's classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood) as Hopper's older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson (The Grey) as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's father), Admiral Shane.

Berg directs this epic action-adventure also produced by Scott Stuber (Couples Retreat), Sarah Aubrey (The Kingdom), Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir of Hasbro (the Transformers franchise), along with Duncan Henderson (Master and Commander) and Jeffrey Silver (300).  The film is written by Jon Hoeber & Erich Hoeber (Red).

The battle for Earth begins at sea on May 18th.

Hells to the YA!!!  Saturday night.  Mindless action!!!!

Higgy 5/10/2012 10:09:26 AM

Yeah, this looks dumber then GIJoe Rise of the Cobra.  If I want to watch sh*t explode I'll just watch a Transformers movie.  At least that's not as fully ridiculous as this is.

Think I'll go watch Avengers again this weekend.

I originally thought that this had some promise to it.  However, the more and more they have released story wise, the less and less I've been interested.  This looks like something I'd enjoy as a rental, but that's about it.

I have never wanted a movie to fail as bad as I want this crap to fail. If this is a success we have to worry about every other Board game adaptation. And even though Candyland could be a trip, who wants any of this garbage?

But I dont think this movie is going to fail. Its doing well in the foreign market.

Does anyone else want to know which branch of McDonald's Taylor Kitsch will be working in next year?

hanso 5/10/2012 2:50:23 PM

I got my ticket for this.

BunyonSnipe, I liked Kitsch in John Carter but I'm not interested in this one at all.

Wiseguy 5/10/2012 4:47:12 PM

Kitsh probably has enough money to buy a small chain of McD's so I guess he'd be working as owner/manager?

Kitsch also has SAVAGES coming out in July, which I'm really looking forward to

With Higgy here. Even go as far as watching Dark Shadows instead (actually think I am being dragged along to that anyway). Think it will be a good one for a Sunday arvo on the couch in 6 months though.
