LONE RANGER scribe knows westerns

David Webb Peoples, who wrote the Oscar-winning Clint Eastwood film UNFORGIVEN, has been hired to write a screenplay for THE LONE RANGER. Peoples will write the screenplay together with his wife, Janet. The couple previously teamed up to produce TWELVE MONKEYS which was directed by Terry Gilliam.
According to a report on Variety, the Peoples version of the Ranger is supposed to remain a traditional western but also include a new twist on the characters.
