While no official word has come from Paramount, it looks like that talk of SPEED and TWISTER director Jan de Bont taking on the directing duties for TOMB RAIDER 2 was just that.

It was announced at the Cannes film festival this week that de Bont has signed on to direct a big screen bio-pic of St. Nikolas, a fourth century Austrian warrior.

Paramount seems happy with the current version of the RAIDER script, and is anxious to get Angelina Jolie back in Lara Croft's tight, er, archeological gear.
