Looper Tease on iTunes

Time traveling Hitman

We’ll give Looper director Rian Johnson and star Joseph Gordon-Levitt some real credit for how they’ve been handling the drip-feed scene segments that have been arriving online as we prepare to see the full teaser trailer. Instead of just doling out fragments of footage a la Twilight, the pair has been introducing each snippet and talking up the movie. You can watch the latest instalment over at Apple.
In this most recent chat, Gordon-Levitt and Johnson explain how they made the actor look like Bruce Willis. As it turns out, they weren’t shooting for an exact match for young John McClane. “We knew we were never going to make Joe look like a really young Bruce Willis, and so what we did was picked a few key features and altered those."
For Gordon-Levitt, it meant time spent sitting around getting prosthetics applied… “That required three hours in the makeup chair, every morning! The transformation kind of freaked Bruce out.”
Unless you’re avoiding all of these chunks and even the trailer itself to stay pure for the film itself (due on September 28), check it out for more from the duo. But for everyone else, the trailer is mere hours away.

Plot Concept: Looper is a time travel movie, set in a near future where time travel doesn’t exist but will be invented in a few decades. It’s pretty dark in tone, much different from Bloom, and involves a group of killers (called Loopers) who work for a crime syndicate in the future. Their bosses send their targets hogtied and blindfolded back in time to the Loopers, and their job is to simply shoot them in the head and dispose of the body. So the target vanishes from the future and the Loopers dispose of a corpse that doesn’t technically exist, a very clean system. Complications set in from there. The film stars Joesph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Jeff Daniels, and is directed by Rian Johnson (Brick).

The more I hear about this film the more I want to see it.

I read that it's basically JGL has to kill Willis yet they're the same person. Pretty wicked, I hope it looks kick ass too

They could have modeled Willis from his old Levi's 501 commercials he danced around in from the 80's before he got famous.

Hmmm, could be interesting b ut this is the first I've heard of it.

Sounds pretty good and has a solid cast.  I'm there.

It also sounds like they aren't following that time-travelling rule of a person can't be in the same place at the same time.  That's a bunch of mularkey because no two people can occupy the exact same space at the same time.  They can touch, but unless one of them is a ghost they aren't actually in the same place.

I argue that point because, as we all know, time travel is real...

And in this case it really wouldn't matter because of their age differences... Even if they did touch their skin isn't composed of the same molecules because we completely "shed" our skin every 6 years or so, right?

Man I'm a dork.

JGL has really transformed himself nicely into adult roles, and I hardly ever, with some very notable exceptions, can pass up a movie with Willis.  Hey maybe Die Hard 6 can be a prequel starring JGL??

I'm down.  I loved their first collaboration in Brick.

Well the trailer is up already

Looks pretty damn cool but then again it's Bruce motherfuckin' Willis and JGL can hold his own too so I wouldn't expect any less

Trailer looks awesome; Bruce Willis is like a fine wine, he just gets better with age.
