Toy Biz, a division of Marvel Enterprises), has introduced a line-up of products inspired by New Line Cinema's coming THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy.


The intricately sculpted feature uncanny likenesses of the films' actors which were achieved by a combination of laser scanned technology and top talent sculptors. The figures also have a number of different "dynamic action features including sound, movement, and light-up aspects."


The individual characters figures will be issued in two assortments. The characters in Assortment I include: Frodo, Witch King Ring Wraith, Strider, Legolas and Newborn Lurtz Uruk-Hai. The characters in Assortment II include: Gandalf, Gimli, Samwise Gamgee, Saruman and Orc Overseer. The individual figures will have suggested retail prices of $7.99.


Twin Packs will feature Boromir vs. Lurtz/Uruk-Hai, Galadriel & Frodo, and Merry & Pippin with Moria Orc (Goblin). Each of these sets will retail for $12.99,


The Dark Rider with Horse set will sell for $19.99. There will also be an Arwen with horse set for the same price.


There will also be a Lord of the Rings Collector Series of 9-12" action figures with fabric outfits. Assortment 1 of this line features Gandalf, Frodo and Arwen, at a retail price of $19.99 each.


Kid size accessories of the film's weapons will be Uruk-Hai Bow N' Arrow ($16.99), Electronic Middle Earth Sword ($14.99) and Electronic Light 'N Sound "Sting" Sword ($12.99).
