Animated? They're tired of Orlando Bloom and John-Rhys Davies?

Is there some new animated version coming out that I haven't heard about? Looks like Gentle Giant is taking marketing lessons from George Lucas. Soon will be a CGI Legolas, Firefighter Legolas, Christmas Legolas, and Claymation Legolas. Oh, well, at least he looks better than the Rankin-Bass freak show elves ever did: http://tolkiengateway.net/w/images/thumb/4/4d/Thranduil_from_Rankin-Bass'_The_Hobbit.jpg/180px-Thranduil_from_Rankin-Bass'_The_Hobbit.jpg

Gentle Giant does some great stuff. And then they go and do utter crap like these "animaquettes" or animated maquettes or just plain maquettes... whatever they decide to call each one that comes out.

Darkraven, you forgot to mention the TRANSFORMER LEGOLAS... It would be cool though if someone was working on some kind of animated Tolkien-world program...

Not forgetting the LEGO Legolas.

Am I the only one who thinks it's cool?

I'm with you muchdrama - I like these animated LOTR statues that Gentle Giant is making. The designs are really nice. I don't particularly care that there is no actual animated series. Check out their website - they also have "animated" versions of Gimli, a Ringwraith on horse, Gandalf, and Saruman. I'm not going to buy them, but I'm just really not into collecting all these statues that are coming out these days - but I really do like the design of their animated figures.
