I LOVE LOST! There I've said it and I feel better....
If it wasn't for Lost, Dexter and the Fight Network, I would not own a television.... God bless you JJ Abrams

Television executives must love Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper. Just a year and a half after the "Battlestar Galactica" cast sat down and recreated the classic painting, ABC and Touchstone have convinced the "Lost" cast to do the same for fans looking for clues into what's going to happen this final season, which begins on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Check out both promo images below along with the video that's been airing on the network the last month.Check out the series' official website here.

The ego on these guys...great show however. I think this might be a negative impact on the show. Does not matter at this point. I guess BSG did the same shot. Any others anybody know?
BSG did do a Last Supper-esque promo for its cast prior to the start of its final season. However, the cast were positioned in various poses, and I believe there was even an empty chair at the table for the final Cylon. Overall the theme was far different than this promo showing the cast all centered around John Locke/Loophole and focused on him. This promo is a lot less subtle or debatable than the BSG shot, but frankly I don't give a frak. GIVE ME LOST.
Lost is the best show...EVER. It created a brand new standard in TV that most new shows are trying to follow-up (Fringe, BSG, Flash forward) and regardless of what happens in this last season , I don't care because the show itself did what it was suppose to do for me: made me talk about it, made me loved it, made me questionned about it, made me freak out in finalies, superb character development, what more do we need?
Sure some things might not get explained but, who cares. As long as we get to know who the Others are, what's on the island, who's the monster and who is Jacob and that other dude who wanted him dead, that's all I want to know. The rest, all fun and intrigues.
jedi....Fringe makes sense as its the same people that make Lost and Flash Forward is a Lost rip off but Lost didn't set the standard for BSG. If anything this promo proves Lost is ripping of BSG.
Lost is a great show...they almost and I stress almost jumped the shark last season with all that time travel crap but I'll give them a chance to end the series on a high note.
Well Hobbs, couldn't disagree with you more on that one. BSG started before Lost yes but, as a Mini-series. Lost and BSG the TV series both started in 2004 but Lost was way better in quality and character development compared to BSG. And as far as ''ripping'' off BSG for the last supper promo, I would say BSG and Lost ripped off Da Vinci and that's it.
BSG was good, but it was more of an action show (also in space) compared to Lost which is characters on an island but with many emotions and reasoning behind every actions and words.
And it's just funny that people don't like the time-travelling of season 5 of Lost...why? how the hell can it be so hard to understand? It was a great year last year and this last season will one very good I'm sure.
On another note....could the ''last supper'' Lost promo be a clue of religious implications of the island???
BSG wasn't the first to use the image either. Anyway, there is an article linked from IMDb about this pic, and it showed several others that have been used in recent years. http://io9.com/5439399/what-clues-are-hidden-in-the-lost-supper .
Well we already know it has something to do with possibly God and the devil, good and evil, maybe egyptian gods. At least something spiritual in nature. I don't really think there are any hidden clues about the season though. Maybe if the characters were seated in specific spots or positions as in the painting, like say someone in Judas' spot, then there might be something to talk about. But both photos are different and the only obvious reference is that Locke is in Jesus' spot. And we all know that he wants to "save" the island.
And I completely agree with you jedibanner. The time travel aspect, which really started two seasons ago and finally played a major role last season was what finally grounded the show in science fiction. Lost kept dipping it's toes in the genre through the first 3 seasons but the time travel finally let it submerge itself fully. And they used it so well (unlike other shows, *cough* Heroes *cough*). IMO it was the best season yet. February 2nd can't come soon enough.
Because the time travel aspect was a cop out. They painted themselves in a corner with their writing. Time travel is an overused cleshay that gives writers and easy out when they can't answer a question they set up in the first place. You see the same things with aliens...don't know how to answer the question, put an alien in it. Just like Lawyers, don't ask a question you don't already know the answer to. Abrams team is guilty of this more than once.
That's one of the things that made BSG great was that Moore said no aliens and no time travel from day one and even at the end when everyone was predicting time travel as a way he was going answer everything, he didn't use it.
I would be hard pressed to say BSG was an action show...it was as much of a drama as Lost is albeit a different way of telling it.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but time travel the way they used it was a mistake. Doesn't mean I hate the show, just saying it came very close to jumping the shark.
Could those photos be any more stupid? Oh well...I'm looking forward to the final season. I have loved LOST since the first episode, and hope they at least TRY to wrap it up nicely!
