Varese Sarabande has announced a new crop of CDs for release in March, including an album with the most sought after music of any of today's TV series: Michael Giacchino's Emmy winning music for LOST will be released on March 21st.

LOST became an unprecedented blockbuster right out of the gate, with an audience of over 14 million people every week. The ratings of the second season have climbed even further, to over 17 million per week. From J.J. Abrams, the creator of ALIAS (also scored by Giacchino and released by Varese last year), comes the action-packed adventure that became a worldwide television event. Stranded on an island that holds many secrets, including mysterious whispers, hidden occupants, and at least one menacing monster, 48 people must band together if they hope to get home alive. With an ensemble cast that includes Matthew Fox (Jack), Evangeline Lilly (Kate), Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Terry O'Quinn (Locke), Dominic Monaghan (Charlie), Jorge Garcia (Hurley), Emilie de Ravin (Claire), Naveen Andrews (Sayid), Maggie Grace (Shannon), Ian Somerhalder (Boone), Harold Perrineau, Jr. (Michael), Malcolm David Kelley (Walt), Kim Yun-jin (Sun) and Daniel Dae Kim (Jin), the ongoing mysteries of the island and interrelations of the stranded characters and their gradually revealed backgrounds makes for compelling viewing.

The mystical, mesmerizing and beautiful original scores for every episode of LOST have played an important role from the very beginning. "A soundtrack release from LOST has become the most requested title we have ever encountered," noted Varese. "Finally, to celebrate the continued success and acclaim of this landmark television series we are pleased to at last offer this soundtrack for the show's devoted fans."

On the same day, the label will release Terence Blanchard's score for INSIDE MAN, the latest Spike Lee joint (a heist film staring Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster, and Clive Owen), as well as Randy Edelman's score for the April ABC miniseries, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.

One week earlier, on March 14th, Varese will release the latest score by one of Hollywood's most prolific yet underrepresented-on-CD young composers. Christophe (BUFFY, ELEKTRA) Beck wrote the score for the new incarnation of THE PINK PANTHER, starring Steve Martin as Clouseau. Beck's fourth film for director Shawn Levy will feature Mancini's immortal Panther theme as well as Beck's original music.

Also, Mark Isham reunited with THE COOLER director Wayne Kramer for RUNNING SCARED, a thriller starring Paul Walker; along with Alexandre Desplat's score for the thriller FIREWALL, the Varese soundtrack CDs are also due on the 14th.

Based on the best-selling novel by Richard Price, James Newton (KING KONG, THE SIXTH SENSE) Howard's score for FREEDOMLAND, a thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson and Julianne Moore is due out on February 28th. www.varesesarabande.com
