With the release of The Bates Motel last week, Hannibal seems like a welcome addition to late night horror TV. Hopefully the series will deliver all that this “First Look” from NBC promises. Mania will be bringing you reviews of the series after. That last shot of the promo is killer by the way.
The Plot: “Will Graham is a gifted criminal profiler who is on the hunt for a serial killer with the FBI. Graham’s unique way of thinking gives him the astonishing ability to empathize with anyone – even psychopaths. He seems to know what makes them tick. But when the mind of the twisted killer he’s pursuing is too complicated for even Will to comprehend, he enlists the help of Dr. Lecter, one of the premier psychiatric minds in the country. Armed with the uncanny expertise of the brilliant doctor, Will and Hannibal (known as a serial killer only to the audience) form a brilliant partnership and it seems there’s no villain they can’t catch. If Will only knew…”
Hannibal will air April 4th (10PM) on NBC for first season of 13 episodes.
looks like the kind of show I'd always give at least a couple episodes to suck me in. the fact it's on NBC gives me GREAT pause. if this was on AMC or FX or something I'd almost be convinced without even watching an episode... I guess I can hope for something special... Too bad the NBC brand has all kinds of stink on it.
Shit, I was looking forward to this, but NBC?? I'll wait until it's been jerked around, lost and killed a couple of times, then replaced by golf.
I hope they're writing this in complete blocks and arcs. With Season 1 being self contained and then 2 being self-contained...because then, I might, MIGHT watch it. After the fact. I've been jerked around by NBC too much to watch anything by them.
Although I really wish all shows were like that. Cliffhangers can be fun, but if a show doesn't come back, or gets shuffled around like NBC tends to do with shows I like, it's infurriating to get invested in a show just to have it dissappear.
Can't wait!
