While wrapping up post production on their Kevin Costner-led thriller The New Daughter, Gold Circle Films and Spanish writer Luis A. Berdejo are set to reteam on a new sci-fi epic called POD, says The Hollywood Reporter. Based off an original idea, the genre film will be Berdejo's first English-language job.
Luis wrote the Spanish horror film Rec which was recently remade into Quarantine by Screen Gems and the plan is for him to shoot POD after he directs his passion project, the Spanish-language Jennifer Can, the first screenplay he wrote. Gold Circle topper Paul Brooks will produce while Scott Niemeyer and Norm Waitt are set to executive produce.
No specific plot concept was mentioned but "Pod" is described as an intergalactic tale of discovery, love and adventure and epic in scope.
