I stand by my statement (which everyone seems to have overlooked).  This is just one paragraph outlining the barest of plans, more than likely one of several ideas being batted around for the next movie.  The original three may or may not return, if they do they may or may not be played by their original actors playing the roles 30 years after the war, or may or may not be recast with younger stars playing the characters picking up more-or-less where Return of the Jedi left off.  Ever since the announcement that Number 7 was going to be made all that's come out is massive amounts of rumor and supposition.  I want to here more confirmed details before thumbing my nose at the whole thing.

As for the second trilogy, I never considered them a failure.  Jar Jar was annoying, but no more so than the Ewoks or the Jawas, all the movies had some cute little wierdo to appeal to the kids.  Hayden's performance as Anakin didn't suck at all, and if there were any faults they were all easily countered by his talented co-stars.  The online geeks generally panned the movies but the vast majority of other fans didn't.  they made great money, produced respectable amounts of accolades.  And I still watch them regularly when they come on cable.  They were okay.

I don't care what they do, who they use or what.  Just give me good Star Wars.

Han is so old Leia wishes he could fire.

Han so old he does the Kessel Run in 24 parsecs.

As long as Han Solo can fire a blaster or pilot a fortune cookie shaped ship, then who gives a shit what his age is, Harrison is in primo shape dudes, the original cast can work much better than the stigma of old age would have too many believe.

But yeah, good Star Wars movies are all that matter to me too, no matter who/where/when/why/door/monkey

all good points FerretJohn, I agree that Hayden is better than his performance as Anakin, but that character was poorly written and he wasn't old enough or experienced enough to make it work.  Had an older actor taken the role, they might have challenged the dialogue a little more and made it better.  All in all, the prequels weren't the end of the world, but I don't ever find myself wanting to watch them again.

wish, you think they should've had an older actor to play Anakin?  Anakin was supposed to be early 20s, who do you think should've played him, Ernest Borgnine?

wish 11/17/2012 12:01:23 AM I think there may have been options in between a 19yr old and an 80yr old.

The Empire was destroyed, there is no Empire without the Emperor. It will be a different threat, like the Vong or something

SarcasticCaveman 11/17/2012 1:51:10 AM

There is no Empire without the Emporer?...I'm pretty sure Mao Zedong is why isn't Communist China overwith?

SarcasticCaveman 11/17/2012 1:51:55 AM

And sorry, FerretJohn, but I never found Jawas annoying, and Jar Jar is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more annoying than the Ewoks.
