Fishburne Replacing Petersen in CSI? - Aug 06, 2008 - 03:59am
Kurt Russell paid you to say that, didn't he? But seriously. I agree that any of the three would make a great replacement. You have dark and brooding, quirky crazy and quiet tough guy. Depends on which way the producers want to go with the character. May be worth checking out.

Toy Maniac: A Look At DC Direct's WATCHMEN Figures - Jun 27, 2008 - 03:52am
I would blame deadlines and lots of spare parts laying around for the Gordon fig.

TV Review: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: Revelations - Jun 17, 2008 - 04:24pm
One thing I keep thinking about is this ... The Cylon's say the Final Five have been to Earth. But they would have gone to Earth before the Cylon Civil War, long before. What if they went to Earth when the other seven models wiped out the 12 Colonies and their mission was to wipe out the 13th Colony. Now the Human survivors and their soft and fuzzy new Cylon friends will have to deal with a fleet of base ships manned by the Final Five models. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

Sander's Happy Madison Launches GENRE Label - Jun 06, 2008 - 04:35am
Sounds cool. Hopefully he can be successful and put out some good stuff. BTW ... you mis-spelled SANDLER in the title. Slow down and proof read. Keep up the good work.

Dante to Direct BAT OUT OF HELL - May 15, 2008 - 04:00am
I thought they were finally going to make a movie using Meat Loaf's album as the basis/soundtrack. This sounds like a Sci-Fi original. Or better yet, Bats on a Muthafukin' Plane.

5 Almost-Great Sci-Fi Films Worth a Second Look - May 15, 2008 - 03:57am
I think the thing most of us loved about Lifeforce was Mathilda May running around naked for most of the movie. Great memories!

CW Gives REAPER Renewal - May 13, 2008 - 04:27am
Great news. This is one of my new favorites. It has gotten so much better since they got away from the "escaped soul of the week" storylines. Now the reaper job has taken a back seat to some really good stories. And yes, pony. The devil may well be the best character on TV right now. He is written well, and Ray Wise's acting is spot on. I knew the devil would be charming, but c'mon. Even I have a little man-crush on him. But ... great show. Glad to see it coming back. Just wish it was for a full season.

Boxleitner Headed to HEROES - May 08, 2008 - 12:58pm
I had my doubts about him when he was coming on board B5. While I loved Scarecrow and Mrs. King, his acting was, well ... wooden. But he more than redeemend himself him my eyes with B5. Can't wait to see him on Heroes. Sounds like a good addition.

Root Draws BLOOD - May 08, 2008 - 07:47am
"If you don't give me back my stapler, I'm going to drain all the blood out of your body." I can't wait! Wish I had HBO too.

Fox Goes For Sci-Fi Thrills in ZERO-G - Apr 29, 2008 - 05:54am
"Pre-emptively grabbed the rights to an upcoming sci-fi thriller video game". That is Hollywood speak for "we don't want Uwe Boll to make this movie." Way to go Fox!!!

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: Escape Velocity - Apr 29, 2008 - 04:08am
Loved this episode. Amazing. Had a thought. With Tigh being a cylon and aging normally, then with his "visions" of his wife switching places with the Six, could his wife have been a six all along and aged along with him? Are the other Tigh-lons aging along with the one on Galactica? Hmmm ...

Universal Options Alien Invasion in RESURRECTION - Apr 28, 2008 - 03:58am
Me too. I always wanted to see "V: The Later Years".

McSweeney, Swan Combine for Monster BAT - Apr 17, 2008 - 11:44am
So I read the title and thought "Cool! They're finally making a movie based on Meat Loaf's classic album. This could be great." But alas, that is not to be. Sounds like Dracula meets Snakes on a Plane. Hello Sci-Fi Saturday nights! Look ... paragraphs. Sweet. OK. I thought I was making paragraphs ... shit.

Gotham Knight Premieres at WW Chicago - Apr 11, 2008 - 05:56am
In the picture on the right above, Batman's mask reminds me of the villian from Gatchaman. I want to see this. Sportwarrior: We'll let you know how it is.

MOON Picked Up by Universal - Apr 09, 2008 - 02:44am
No pony, it's not made out of cheese. That's why we haven't gone back in thirty-some years. We spent all that money to be disappointed. What a shame. Don't discount the Moon. Pick up Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Great read.

Disney's 10 Animated Films To 2012 - Apr 09, 2008 - 02:37am
I was out in Vegas in February and while walking by the Wynn I saw on their electronic billboard an animation of Tinkerbell. In a disturbing kind of way it was really sexy. I'm not sure what that means, but I thought I'd share.

Justin Marks Penning HACK/SLASH - Apr 09, 2008 - 02:35am
I like the premise. Don't blame Justin Marks just because of Kristen Kreuk. Maybe the Street Fighter movie will be good in spite of her.

VALKYRIE Taking on Jason Voorhees - Apr 08, 2008 - 11:10am
Cue announcer: "Coming to a theater near you ... the blockbuster to end all blockbusters ...[insert movie title here] ... you won't want to wait until ... ARBOR DAY!!!"

Kapur Takes on Fantasy LARKLIGHT - Apr 01, 2008 - 05:21am
I like the premise. Sounds interesting. Steam-punk space exploration.

Lionsgate Understands The Last EQUATION - Mar 28, 2008 - 06:19am
Hmmm ... Num3ers the Motion Picture?

Lundgren Returns to Perform for COMMAND - Mar 28, 2008 - 06:15am
The plot sounds like an '80s action film. Not great cinema, but wonderful beer and pretzels kind of stuff.

Cast Ready to Battle Angels in LEGION - Mar 28, 2008 - 06:11am
I liked this movie when it came out as The Prophecy with Christopher Walken playing Gabriel. Viggo Mortensen playing Lucifer was great. He was almost as creepy as Walken.

Regency Traveling to CUTLASS ISLAND - Mar 25, 2008 - 05:05am
What exactly is a "big, four-quadrant, family entertainment film" anyway? I agree Dazzler. Do we really need another kiddie fantasy movie? I'm thinking it may be a Dinotopia with pirates type film. That may be interesting at least.

Cohen Updates Again on MUMMY 3 - Mar 25, 2008 - 05:02am
Couldn't that be read as "The studio sees a decent action flick but the effects are crap (ala the end of Mummy 2) and they are offering money to make them better"? Please don't give us another crappy CGI Scorpion King.

Jovovich Helps the Perfect GETAWAY - Mar 24, 2008 - 04:46am
It's been cast like a network sitcom. How in the hell could Steve Zahn land Milla Jovavich as a wife? Outside of that, the plot doesn't sound like a rehash of anything that comes to my mind right away. I'm sure someone will come up with something. There are no original ideas in Hollywood anymore.

CBS Cancels JERICHO Again. - Mar 24, 2008 - 03:57am
I've heard an insane rumbling (could be my stomach) about Jericho being picked up by another network. Since Sci-Fi is showing it in syndication, perhaps they will pick it up and give it new life. They've done it before, although with mixed results.

Wild West Horror for Marshall's SACRILEGE - Mar 11, 2008 - 05:31am
Agreed! Will need to keep an eye on this one to see how it develops. Lovecraftian Westerns ... Cowboys with tentacles! I can't wait!

SOUTH PARK: Imaginationland - Mar 09, 2008 - 04:53am
One of the things I've noticed about this past season of South Park is this. When you watch an episode (pretty much every one), you don't really think it's that funny. But after a few days, you remember something about it and realize how funny it really was. I can't explain it, but it happened to me, my wife and most of my friends. "Imaginationaland Trilogy" were 3 of those episodes.

First Teaser Trailer for RIGHTEOUS KILL - Mar 08, 2008 - 07:04am
Interesting way to look at it, Flint. But you're right about the cast. That is one stacked line-up.

BONE Comic Picked Up by WB - Mar 08, 2008 - 07:02am
Loved this series. Almost: I hope it is CGI. That would be sweet.

ANIMALS Set to Wipe Out Mankind - Mar 07, 2008 - 05:05am
Necro - Was that Mike Birbiglia? I thought of that as I was reading the plot.

Freddie Highmore Picked to Lead ASTROBOY - Feb 28, 2008 - 06:44pm
Not to mention the legions of 40-50 year olds who grew up with the original. I may see it for nostalgia purposes. Probably not at the theater, though. Unless the trailer really turns me off.

CBS Grabs Crime Drama MENTALIST - Feb 27, 2008 - 04:47am
Actually, as I read that brief Plot Concept, I thought of USA's other Friday night show ... Psych. Although he just claims to be a psychic. What is a mentalist anyway?

Jimmy Bennett is Young Kirk in STAR TREK - Jan 30, 2008 - 06:15am
"Redshirt... Not a bad idea, but somehow I don't give these producers enough credit to track down an obscure reference like that." Actually, that's not such an obscure reference, but the plot to an entire TOS episode, "The Conscience of the King". If JJ and crew aren't familliar with that, then they aren't the fans they claim to be and definitely don't deserve to be doing this movie.

EUREKA: E=MC...? - Aug 30, 2007 - 01:57pm
As a wrestling fan, I wasn't offended at all. But I did notice something odd when he was watching wrestling. You would figure it would be ECW on Sci-Fi, right. That's what I thought until I rewound the scene and realised it was TNA on SpikeTV that he was watching. I recognized thier six-sided ring. You can bet someone at WWE is banging thier head against a wall. And wolf ... I've got tickets for the Raw taping this Sunday. It's really not that bad. I think.

Fox Releases PRISON BREAK & K-VILLE Online - Aug 24, 2007 - 06:00am
Why? Don't the networks realize that by putting thier shows online they are hurting the all important ratings they covet so much? Knowing I can catch a show online doesn't make me want to watch it when it is airing against one of my other favorite shows. Just seems dumb to me.

Old Harry Potter is Back in TROLL Remake - Jul 25, 2007 - 06:34am
Sooooo ... tell us how you really feel metawater? But you are right on one point ... it is ALL about money. And I think they may be doing a sequel to Troll but probably had to sell it as a remake to get it made. The producers probably never even saw the first movie and said "Hey! That's brilliant!" or some such nonsense.

DARK IS RISING Trailer - Jul 12, 2007 - 06:10am
I saw the trailer for this last night before Harry Potter. It piqued my interest. I'm not sure why Ashamel thinks it looked bad. Seemed fairly well done to me, but I haven't read the book. Dr. Who fans rejoice ... Christopher Eccleston is the Dark. I'll see it

Writer Joe Hill is Stephen King's son - Mar 19, 2007 - 06:25am
I read this in People or OK! a few weeks back. But everyone seems to be treating this like it is new news. I think he needs a better publicist.
