This reminds me of Joe Madureira's Battle Chasers. The first couple of issues came out and were fantastic. He was super popular (also having come off of Uncanny X-Men) and his work graced the covers of comics everywhere. But after 9 issues over the course of 4 years, we'd all had enough and weren't surprised when he cancelled the solicitation for #10.
So Zoe is now our new Summer Glau? I'm down for that. But I do hope they have her bulk up a bit for the role. In her current "have to wear a floatie around my waist so I don't slip down the shower drain" state, I don't think she'd be as beleivable.
Saturday morning, 10 am, I am going to plant my butt in a movie theater and watch this.
I really enjoyed the interplay between The Doctor and Clara. There is a lot of chemistry there. I thought the "threat" and spoonheads were a little weak, villain-wise. But this episode wasn't about that. It was about (re-?) introducing Clara as a proper companion. With that, they succeeded greatly.
Loved the little nods and winks in the episode. The author of the book. Even the cover illustration seemed to be a nod to Moffat's work. As for the girl in the shop, I recall Rose mentioning to The Doctor that she was "back working in the shop" after she was stranded in the alternate dimension. Also, when Clara asked where the girl was in the book, she replied "Chapter 10". Clara responded, "Chapter 11 is my favorite. I cried my eyes out." A reference to the Melody Malone book from "The Angels Take Manhatten"? Or a reference to the 11th Doctor?
Good stuff and I'm eagerly anticipating the rest of the season.
I did see pics of Matt Smith and David Tennant from the read through for the 50th Anniversary special. I hope it lives up to the hype.
I really hope Hannibal is better than Bates Motel. My wife (the huge horror fan in the family) found the series boring, as did I, and we removed it from our DVR schedule. We did give it two episodes, but both found we really didn't like any of the characters except Emma and she'll pobably die soon.
Of course, Hannibal is on NBC, so my expectations are much lower for it.
The Wizard of Oz. As good as or better than many religions running today.
Nicole Ritchie in Man from U.N.C.L.E.? WTF?!?! That's what I thought when I read the headline.
I agree, Cruise should pass on this one. It's still in "early talks" so when fan reaction is negative, I'm sure he'll politely bow out. I could see Cooper and Fassbender pulling this off. If it was 10 years ago, I'd go with Paul Bettany, but he may be a bit old for Illya.
garthgirl - while a cameo by McCallum would be great, don't forget that Robert Vaughn is still alive and working at 80 years old. If they have one of them, they'd better have both.
Poison Elves is back! Poison Elves is back!! New company, new writer (Robb Horan, from Sirius), new artist. Pick up issue #1 and say goodnight to the sandman.
A good end to a fantastic series. I agree that dismantling hidden bombs was a bit of a letdown as a series finale (although it wasn't written as a series finale, I'd like to think). But it could have been worse. The whole of season two could have been a holographic simulated training exercise (think St. Elsewhere ... or Dallas).
I really hope DC continues YJ in direct to video releases.

I'm excited for this. Everything I've seen or read about it makes it look like a winner. I hope I'm not disappointed. I loved the first one, laughed at the second one and rolled in the aisles during the third. Hopefully this one has similar effect.
