Leaked Megatron Photos for TRANSFORMERS 2 Confirmed - Sep 24, 2008 - 12:12pm
Maybe I'm drunk but I think that tank looks bad ass! Sure the first was a little nuts, but it was a lot of fun. If the next is going to be that much fun I'm there.

Will Smith is the New CAPTAIN AMERICA? - Sep 08, 2008 - 04:54pm
It's bound to be a controversial decision... changing the race of a character always is. People may say that it is racist not to like it, but picture Blade as a white guy or the punisher with a thick Dutch accent... it has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with changing the characters we love... in fact if you think Will Smith playing Cap will stir the pot, just imagine what would happen if they told everyone they were changing his costume from red white and blue to yellow purple, and green. I think that would piss people off more. When it comes to heroes we like to be loyal to their look. But I gotta say, since reading this I keep picturing Will in the suit with the sheild and I think if anyone could pull off the Superpowered boyscout it's big Willy, in fact although the look is different he probably could be the best acting choice... Oh well, we'll see...

Wilderness Strikes Back in THE MOUNTAIN - Aug 26, 2008 - 04:29pm
hanso... so you didn't know the Happening was about nature... guess you didn't read or comment on the numerous articles that stated what it was about... guess you didn't see any over the reviews online or on tv that gave it away, or the trailers that gave it away... or even the reports on this site over a year and a half ago, you know back when it was called the Green Effect, and the plot summery was about how, ya know, nature attcks man.... P.S. It sucked hard, you are not missing anything.

WB Decides to Reboot Darker SUPERMAN - Aug 22, 2008 - 04:55pm
I couldn't agree with Jarrod more, this is a mistake... How stupid are the WB executives. If they learn anything from Marvel they should learn that each character has to be treated differently. Spiderman, Ironman, and Hulk all had different approaches that suited each character to a tee... Spidey was fun and light hearted but faced real world choices and concequences, Hulk was dark and brooding with over the top action, Ironman was non stop action and fun... Making a DARK Superman movie is just stupid... Look at the respective animated series that WB put out, they got it right for the most part, a dark somber Gotham, vs. a bright modern Metropolis, with respective hero's to match. Why doesn't WB get that we don't want every character darkened up, we just want the best of what the comic offers... We don't want a bad ass Superman, we want to see the rigid boy scout, but actually using his powers to whip on a worthy adversary... AND PLEASE NO GOD DAMN LEX LUTHOR AND HIS DAMN LAND GRAB SCHEMES!!!!

Iron Man Disses The DARK KNIGHT - Aug 16, 2008 - 03:36am
Now this is what I'm talking about! Ironman was so much more fun to watch than TDK (TDK was fantastic by the way, i just liked IM waaaaay better). As far as the BO debate goes, of course TDK owns, my sister and all her goofy freinds would never have gone to see any Batman movie ever, but rushed to see this one because it was one of Ledger's last performances (whether you like it or not that has been a huge draw for a lot of non fans and ladies out there), combine them with the fan boys and BOOM! Hate to say it boys but the masses are not all going in to see your rubber suited freind, they are in it for Heath. Ironman was a breath of fresh air, it just did everthing right and when I wasn't glued to my seat with the action I was laughing my head off at the one liners. Loved it... As far as the "who would win" Wiseguy nailed it! In their costumes Batman gets his shit ripped, out of the suits, Stark will need to call a dentist and a plastic surgeon when it's over.

IRON MAN DVD Set for Sept. 30 - Jul 22, 2008 - 04:27pm
The only two i haven't seen this summer were Hancock and Hellboy... Hellboy is a given (I'll see it next week), but was Hancock worth it?

Box Office Update: KNIGHT Captures Box Office History for WB - Jul 22, 2008 - 02:54am
I think Guy Pearce should play Wonder Woman.

IRON MAN DVD Set for Sept. 30 - Jul 22, 2008 - 02:41am
Oh yes... I'll be owning this one... There is a lot of debate over which film really owned the summer (Ironman or Batman). My money is on Ironman. Don't get me wrong TDK was fine, but they are different animals and i had a lot more fun watching Ironman.

Box Office Update: KNIGHT Captures Box Office History for WB - Jul 21, 2008 - 02:32pm
How was Dent a plot device.... hmmmmmm, probably because they killed him (and eyes open or shut, they had a memorial to him in the film)... faking his death and locking him up with no one knowing seems a little much even for Gordon and Bats... so two face gets the last third of the movie and gets snuffed, not to mention that the White Knight Harvey Dent turns the corner after one conversation with the Joker... not even a mention of a split personality or brain damage, he just "goes bad". Plot device, and to be honest, not a very good one.

Hey, just got back from Law and Order: Special Batman Unit. Two things to say, 1. Heath Ledger was absolutely amazing, every time he wasn't in a scene I wanted him back on screen, best Joker ever. 2. Other than that I wasn't that impressed, don't get me wrong, I'm not hating. TDK was a good watch but it was not what I expected I guess. Plus I'm a little bitter that Two Face (one of batman's best and most interesting villains) was stuck being a plot device. All in all, go see it, but try not to buy into the hype, or you may be let down... my expectations were just too high.

HANCOCK: Superman III 1/2? - Jul 02, 2008 - 02:35am
For those of you keeping score.... Hancock just got the same rating from Mania as Ironman.

New HULK Trailer - May 14, 2008 - 04:02pm
I can not wait.... it looks awesome.... everything that was great about the first with none of the problems. And Hulk looks wicked... deal haters.

IRON Launches To Top With 104.2 Mil Debut - May 05, 2008 - 07:15pm
...as I crawl back out of the hole I crawled into.... gotta comment on this one... Ironman rocked... don't know if it was the best ever, but I do know it was one of the best ever... It did everything right on every level. I was shocked when I read the Ho Hum review that this site gave it... and it's gotta sting for that reviewer now taht Ironman is well on it's way to being the best reviewed film of the year. Here's to more Ironman... and not dark or serious.... the best part of this flick was that it was fun.

Two Minutes of IRON MAN - Apr 13, 2008 - 09:45am
SONY... I've been listening to this for months man, what is it you found so wrong with the first Spidey, and for that matter what would you have done differently... and if you say a dark, edgy Spidey like in McFarlanes run, conversation over.

Davis Taking On NORTH WIND Comic - Apr 07, 2008 - 02:40am
Meh... I'm from Canada... this sorta stuff happens all the time....

Ray Stevenson Talks PUNISHER - Apr 06, 2008 - 09:45am
Ya know what NotAFan, although overall the newer punisher was a better MADE film, you're absolutely right, Lungren's Punisher, while a little cheezy at times was way closer to the mark than Jane's. Jane was a pussy in that flick compared to the Frank castle I know and love, let's hope this time they get it right.

Maguire Is a Hungry RABBIT - Apr 06, 2008 - 09:42am
I'll miss mcGire, but much like the hulk and punisher, and Batman years before them, Spidey is in need of some new creative energy, let's all welcome a change and pray it is for the better.

First Look Featurette for HULK - Apr 06, 2008 - 09:37am
Don't worry too much almost... Norton is a little bit of a nut when it comes to work that is under his control.... The more I see the more pleased I am, and hate all you want, that last shot of Hulk's face was sweet. Can't wait.

TRANSFORMERS 2 Prepping for Production - Apr 03, 2008 - 05:58am
now I know why I'm giving up on this site

LEGEND Wins Again in DVD Races - Apr 03, 2008 - 05:54am
Not surprised, it was very entertaining, although many hated the ending I was at peace with it.

Millar and Gough Exit SMALLVILLE - Apr 03, 2008 - 05:52am
Smallville sucks... I tried like hell over 7 years to give it it's due, even caught a couple episodes I liked, but always end up disappointed.... Superman 90210 is junk food for tweens... hopefully this spells the end.

New Pics for HELLBOY II, Trailer Online - Apr 03, 2008 - 05:48am
irst one was awesome.... exactly what all comic films should be... thi new one looks even better, and I love these pics...

Official HULK Site Launched & More. - Mar 13, 2008 - 03:33pm
Can one of you CGI experts please give me a valid breakdown of what was wrong with those effects, because I LOVED them... and I'm starting to wonder if I am mentally deficient when it comes to judging this stuff... or could it be that when someone already has their mind made up that something is going to suck, that they look for holes wherever they can find them. I enjoyed the whole trailer. I like the direction they are taking this and I am fine with Abomination... he looks sweet, I just hope he can speak. His intelligence is his greatest asset against the Hulk.

Watching the Watchmen - Mar 12, 2008 - 02:50pm
I've read the crow a hundred times... and seen the film a hundred more... they did take certain liberties with the graphic novel, but it was damn faithful in my opinion and truly captured the essence of the source material. Anything they did change was a change for the better or made sence on the big screen.

First HULK Teaser Trailer Online - Mar 12, 2008 - 08:27am
I will be sitting on the couch witing for this one tonight... Merin, good list, believe it or not I still haven;t seen Ghostworld... Anyone who knows me, knows Ang Lee's Hulk was a fave of mine as well, but the idea of an action filled reboot, does not scare me, in fact I can't wait. It's like getting to read Peter David's best and then switching over to Jones... different but still Hulk, still awesome... No ones expectations are higher than mine, but as long as Hulk throws down, I'm there.

Watching the Watchmen - Mar 12, 2008 - 08:22am
Gotta say it... Watchmen, for whatever reason was adopted by the artistic foo foo contingent as being hip or in... but IS extremely over rated. To say that the future of the comic book film genre hinges on it's success is just not true. Most people have never heard of it. The die hards, of course want an awesome version of Watchmen, the rest of us don't care. If it's good, great, another comic adaption for us to be proud of and drop our 10 bucks on. If it sucks it will be another blip on the radar, like the Phantom, the Shadow or League of Extrordinary Gentlemen. It will come and go with a bad smell and little noise like a popcorn fart. However, if Marvels gamble of steering their own motion picture ship fails and the Hulk or Ironman, or god forbid both bomb, or if the Dark Knight fails to live up to the BB standards, the hole is dug and the nails are in the hardwood. Let's face it, Hollywood see's Superheros as a sure fire genre now, so they are getting lazy... the Spiderman 2 and Xmens of the world are getting harder to find, that combined with the overexposure of the medium could mean bad things to come... but give it a few years and they'll bounce back... they always do.... lucky for geeks like me.

First Trailer for STEP BROTHERS - Feb 28, 2008 - 05:41am
I laughed out loud..... I know that it's in fashion to hate Ferrel... but if you didn't find that trailer funny check your pulse muchacco

Edward Norton Getting Angry for HULK - Feb 28, 2008 - 05:32am
I really like that picture of Hurt under the one of Norton, I'm much happier about his portrayal of Ross after seeing it, he looks great... As for the Norton looks like a dork comments... just for the record there folks... Bruce Banner, uh yeah, he's a dork, a 150 pound dork.... Norton fits the role perfectly. I was never sold on Bana, he seemed too confident, and didn't look like the Banner from the comics...

Del Toro Not Fully On Board HOBBIT? - Feb 14, 2008 - 04:32pm
Guess we all need to keep our fingers crossed.

Redband Trailer for FORGETTING SARAH - Feb 05, 2008 - 02:42am
Looks great, I laughed out loud at Paul Rudd... I know it's only inevitable that Apatow's films become old hat, but I haven't been disappointed yet.

First Trailer for M.Night's HAPPENING - Feb 05, 2008 - 02:35am
All I can say is Wow.... That tariler was truly unerving... I am definately interseted. I've always liked M. Night... for me he is a 5 and 1 director, with Lady in the water as his only real stumble. Can't wait for this.

IRON MAN SB Spot Online - Feb 04, 2008 - 02:30am
mla, Yeah he flies all the time in the comic, and I think all the talk about it was because fans were hoping he flew in the movie as well, but somehow a rumor got started that he didn't. Guess this clears that up. As for the spot, It was awesome, and that last shot was fine... although I am surprised that after the 2003 Hulk fiasco that they would use any CGI FX shots in this trailer if they didn't have to. Oh yeah, and even though only briefly glimpsed, the Iron monger looks sweeeeeet!

Clip from DIARY OF THE DEAD Online - Feb 01, 2008 - 02:50am
I love the genre... but was skeptical about a return to the oldschool Romero zombie, especially after Land... but that is a pretty sweet clip.

IRON MAN Super Bowl Online Details - Feb 01, 2008 - 02:46am
I expected this.... The real question is... Will we get a glimpse of the Hulk on Feb 3rd?!

Dreamworks Acquires Ghostly ACTIVITY - Jan 31, 2008 - 06:03am
Good news for all the b#$%#s that can't even ride a tilt-a-whirl, or read a book in the car on the way to Grandma's house.

Paramount Confirms CLOVERFIELD 2 - Jan 31, 2008 - 06:01am
Cloverfield was an amazing piece of experimental filmaking... and like anything experimental, it either will have the desired effect or it wont. I for one loved it, and I appreciate what the filmakers were trying to capture. Motion sickness killed some, not being a fan of the genre killed others, but I loved it. Anyone who can not appreciate this as a fresh and welcome experiment though I don't understand... this is the kind of original take on movies we should all be hoping for.

GAME PLAN Scores DVD Race Victory - Jan 31, 2008 - 05:53am
I don't know if any of you have seen the Gameplan (and I don't recommend it, unless your kids want to see it) but it is harmless family fare in the tradition of say... Air Bud. Even still I expected more laughs for the parents in the Audience, but didn't really get them. And for a film with football as a theme you get way more ballet than football.

Glimpse of Krauss for HELLBOY II - Jan 29, 2008 - 02:40am
I find myself getting more and more excited to see this film, I loved the first and the teaser for this was amazing. Can't wait.

Alexander Updates on PUNISHER:WAR ZONE - Jan 29, 2008 - 02:38am
I've said it before and I'll say it again... The first Punisher, while not a terrible film, just wasn't the Punisher that I knew and loved. Frank Castle is a nut case, and the character is maent to walk a very thin line between hero and the scum he is trying to eliminate. That is what i hope this new film brings to the table. Recently the best representation i've seen of this Frank, was in Civil War... He rescues Spidey for Cap's side and they reluctantly bring him aboard, then within a day of being there, he guns down two unarmed villains who came looking to surrender and join Cap. He is out of his mind, that is what makes the character awesome.

Fivesome Become PUBLIC ENEMIES - Jan 28, 2008 - 02:44am
This is going to be sweet. Can't wait to see Depp and Bale on screen together.

First Look at Pixar's UP - Jan 28, 2008 - 02:41am
Is it just me, or does that pic look like classic 2D animation

Update: Quaid, Vosloo & Tatum Confirmed For G.I JOE - Jan 28, 2008 - 02:39am
Wiseguy.... I couldn't agree more, pass the barf bag.

Edward Norton: "Utterly Unrelated" to Previous HULK - Jan 24, 2008 - 06:17am
I'm Canadian...so I'm not that political. I think the Queen is still in charge of us or something.... so we don't vote, she just rules us... with an Iron fist... God bless her... Oh well, back to my job in the salt mines. I got a raise this year to a dollar a day... it's really going to help me pay off the igloo. I'm saving up my loonies to see the hulk in the summer... I'll use the kids college fund to buy a small popcorn.... it'll be awesome.

Edward Norton: "Utterly Unrelated" to Previous HULK - Jan 24, 2008 - 06:05am
Good point SpideyBD, the film does seem to start in the South american jungle, exactly where the last one ended. To be honest it almost feels like the original intent was to have a film that was connected enough to plaese fans of the first and still a stand alone to please those who hated the first. Regardless of what Norton says I think it will still work on that level as this new movie is an origin free take on Bruce banner dealing with the curse of being the Hulk with a big villain to smash, and if it was in fact a sequel it would be, yep you guessed it... an origin free take on Bruce Banner dealing with the curse of being the Hulk with a big villain to smash. I for one loved the first attempt, saw the flaws but the up side was too big for a massive Hulk fan like myself... so obviously they can call this a sequel, remake, prequel, reboot, reimagining, reinvention, fresh take, their own version, new stab, continuation, in continuity, out of continuity, WHATEVER!... as long as two words are either uttered or undeniably represented on the big screen.... HULK SMASH!!!!!! I am way too excited for this movie! Ironman and Hulk in the same summer..... JOYGASM!

International GET SMART Trailer Online - Jan 24, 2008 - 05:52am
What can I say, I liked what I saw, it made me smile, which is odd... for me. Anywho, I loved this show when I was a kid (reruns of course), and Carrell is a funny man, so I'm optomistic.

Gilliam's PARNASSUS Shut Down for Now - Jan 23, 2008 - 04:39pm
Hopefully Gilliam will be able to keep intersest and funding High enough to push on. I love Gilliams work. Just saw Tideland a few months ago, I thought it was brilliant. As for Heath, still a sad day... I unfortuanately got a chance to read that God hates fags garbage.... unbelievable. Now if that doesn't make you angry nothing will.

Edward Norton: "Utterly Unrelated" to Previous HULK - Jan 23, 2008 - 04:07pm
Wow this has kinda evolved from, sequel, to reimagining, to reboot, to redo.... As a huge hulk fan, all i can say is bring on the monster... I like Norton and I have faith, let's hope he doesn't f@#$ it up.

Update: Ledger's Autopsy Is Inconclusive - Jan 23, 2008 - 02:40am
To be honest, after having a night to sleep on it, and after reading the last several posts, and with no sarcasm intended, I agree with what a lot are saying. I was never even that big of a Ledger fan. He was a young guy, who I recognize from a lot of my favorite movies, a father, and he died. I've seen tragedy, I know how loss feels, as I'm sure we all do. I got angry, and if I misunderstood anything anyone was trying to get across, then I'm sorry. I'm not saying that everyone needs to be emotional, I just think that there is a right and a wrong way to react to such news in my head, but as I often do, i forgot that that is only my opinion. The biggest thing that is sticking in my mind right now, is that even if this is a tragic accident, the animalistic north american press are going to put any controversial spin on it they can. Let's face it, they do not want his death to be anything but sensationalized.

Update: Ledger's Autopsy Is Inconclusive - Jan 22, 2008 - 05:53pm
What a shocker...Merin if I said taking a shit was good for your bowels, you would hold it until they fitted you with a colostomy bag. Ya got me, I've been crying all day ever since I heard, and it's mainly because I am a celebrity fanatic who cares little for the troubles of the world... and it has nothing to do with disrespectful bullshit written in the wake of a man's death. You guys have taken me trying to ask for a little decorum and painted me to be a man who is upset solely because of this mans fame and somehow I also have no feeling for those dying in tragedy every day. I thank you gentleman. Merin is right, I must be the one who needs perspective. I've learned a valuable lesson. Thank you.

Update: Ledger's Autopsy Is Inconclusive - Jan 22, 2008 - 05:32pm
gauley... do you really think for even a split second I give a rats ass if Heath was a celebrity or not? If this headline read cab driver killed in accident, I would feel the same... but it's cool, keep going. All I'm talking about is respect, or in this case the lack there of. I am well aware that thousands die needlessly... that's the point, don't get me started on how fucked up the world we live in is, wheres Henry rollins when I need him... ANY LOSS OF HUMAN LIFE IN A TRAGEDY. But you seem to have me and the rest of the world all figured out so I digress. Bottom line, it sucks he died, especially so young, especially a father, and his death is no more significant than any other that happened today or any other day... but they all deserve respect, so if you are done putting words in my mouth I'm off to bed, to dream of smashing something to bits.

Update: Ledger's Autopsy Is Inconclusive - Jan 22, 2008 - 04:54pm
mla... don`t fuck with me, I`m not trying to be sanctimonious, and how dare you try to compare the loss of life in one of the greatest tragedy of our lifetime to the loss of a father just to spite me... You are absolutely right, some here are respectful, others are acting like douchebags... and if they don`t like it, too damn bad... when exactly do you think I started to give a FUCK WHAT THEY THINK. Now I am the one being disrespectful, so I am done, but I just can`t believe how low some can sink, and it makes me upset. I am seriously surprised by the behavior. Any loss of life, for any reason is a tragedy. As a father my heart goes out to his family, especially his little girl.

Update: Ledger's Autopsy Is Inconclusive - Jan 22, 2008 - 04:29pm
Ya know I've been coming here for a long fucking time, but I've never been this angry... and I've known for most of that time that some of you might just be fucking assholes, then I read this and realize that some of you are too low to the goddamn ground to be described as something as intelligent and upstanding as an asshole. Show some goddamn respect you trolling fucks. The guy has a baby girl and a family. Writing trash talk and bullshit posts filled with fucked up rhetoric. Get a damn life. My wife was just flipping through some celed tabloid rag and they had pictures of Heath on the beach with Matilda and it gave me a shiver up my spine. They looked so happy. RIP

Casting Begins for Carpenter's GOTHIC - Jan 18, 2008 - 02:39am
Good Lord, Carpenter looks like father Time in that pic.

Cloverfield Manga: Last Minute Hype - Jan 17, 2008 - 05:27am
Ya know, I think the reason I am so optimistic about cloverfield is because it offers something that I haven't gotten excited about since I was a liitle kid. First of all, it's a giant monster movie, and secondly they have successful made it such a big mystery, that you can't help but be excited to see what unfolds on the big screen, which in a day and age filled with tv shows dedicated to Hollywood, and the internet spoilers running wild, is a very rare thing. Now I just need it to live up to the hype.

Christopher Nolan Talks DARK KNIGHT - Jan 15, 2008 - 04:34pm
#7 And now we know... And knowing is half the battle! GO JOE! It almost sounds like the Joker is a character used solely to set up Two Face... I certainly hope not, because that would be the ultimate slap in the face to the Clown Prince of Crime... THE JOKER CAN NOT PLAY SECOND FIDDLE TO ANYBODY!

New IRON MAN Pics Appear Online - Jan 15, 2008 - 02:33am
Nothing mind blowing here, but man am I jacked for this film!

Uwe Boll Responds to DUNGEON SIEGE Bombing - Jan 15, 2008 - 02:32am
Wow... he actually said that huh.... managed to get that whole statement out, even with a mouthful of sh*t. That's talent. It's not enough though, this guy needs to be stopped on all levels.

Smith Makes Contact While the EARTH STOOD STILL - Jan 15, 2008 - 02:28am
I know how we all feel about remakes, but I like the idea of seeing an update to this bad boy. Smith's kid can act so that's a plus.

Charlize Theron Joins Viggo in THE ROAD - Jan 15, 2008 - 02:25am
The post apocolyptic genre is one of my favorites, but it's one where you very rarely get really good stories. Although i have never read the road, I have heard good things, and IMHO Viggo has been on a role since Rings. Theron just strengthens the opinion that this is going to be something special.

UNDERWORLD 4 Development Confirmed - Jan 14, 2008 - 05:00am
This si a movie series with a concept that I want to love so much, but I was only slightly impressed with the first and literally fell asleep during the second, they can try, and I love the idea, but I'll bring pajamas just in case.

Director Singleton Talks About A-TEAM - Jan 14, 2008 - 04:57am
I really like Woody Harrelson, but he doesn't seem like Murdock to me.... I still like Sacha Baron Cohen... As for Mel Gibson, I think he would be an awful Hannibal, and even without his recent troubles I can't see him even looking at this film, he's become a legend in his own mind.

Trailer for Romero's DIARY OF THE DEAD - Jan 13, 2008 - 12:49pm
Agree that we are seeing a little too many zombie flicks, but i love this genre, and hopefully the cream will rise to the top... (Shawn of the Dead, 28 Weeks Later, Dawn remake, hell even RE3 was fun) Maybe it's the crack talking but I think this looks like it will be cream.

Schreiber Playing Creed in WOLVERINE? - Jan 11, 2008 - 03:49pm
What happened to Gerard Butler.... P.S. I LOVE DEXTER, that show kicks serious ass.

Cube Wants a 'Hardcore' A-TEAM Movie - Jan 11, 2008 - 02:42am
My ideas are evolving thanks to you guys... Hannibal- George Clooney, Bruce Willis, totally agree with Cambell but it would never happen Face- Mathew M., Josh Lucas, totally agree with Matt Damon, Brad Pitt would work BA- Ving Rhames would be awesome, still think Cube could do it, and now that I've had time to picture the Rock in the mohawk, I like him too, Bob Sapp (I liked him in The Longest Yard) Murdoch- You guys are probably right about Carrey but, Sacha Baron Cohen would be sweet, I like the idea of Sean William Scott too, John C. Reilly could pull it off as well

Concept Sketch and Details for HOST 2 - Jan 10, 2008 - 04:53pm
I liked the first but it didn't live up to the hype for me... i could go another round however.

Cube Wants a 'Hardcore' A-TEAM Movie - Jan 10, 2008 - 04:48pm
Ya know, since it was first announced that the A-Team would hit the big screen I have wondered who would play the roles, and I gotta disagree, Ice-Cube would make a sweet B A.... I know TV adaptions sometimes bite, but I loved the A-team so much as a kid, I hope this rules. Now who should play the rest of the team... Hannibal- George Clooney Face- Mathew McConaughey or Josh Lucas Murdoch- Jim Carrey ( I know, I know but this is a fantasy pick and who does crazy better than Mr. Crazy himself)

HD-DVD Backers Switching to Blu-Ray? - Jan 10, 2008 - 06:21am
Hmmmmm, couldn't they just make a machine that plays both formats... Hd DVD should fight back with a mud slinging campaign... Blue Ray discs are made from weapons grade plutonium! They lower sperm counts and cause cancer! Blue Ray is a horrible name, It sounds like a gay night club, come wrangle rumps at the Blur Ray Tonight!

Liza Lapira Does The REPOSSESSION MAMBO - Jan 10, 2008 - 06:16am
UH.... OK... could be worse, could be worse, he could be made from artificial hotdogs.. or something. This sounds a little similar to that musical, the name escapes me, also involving organs and reposession.

Some New Photos of CENTER OF THE EARTH 3D - Jan 10, 2008 - 06:01am
Didn't Verne cover that whole lighting issue, wasn't there some kind of bioluminescent plantlife or something, maybe it's the rum talking...

Two New TV Spots for CLOVERFIELD Online - Jan 10, 2008 - 05:56am
I am pumped for this one as well, I even like the whole shakey cam idea, should make it feel really intense... SPOLER WARNING: The Monster rampaging through New York city, destroying everything in it's path with no regard for human life is actually a drunken Britney Spears... that horrible roar you keep hearing in the trailer is her releasing gas after a round of mojitos...

RE3 and WAR Split DVD Race - Jan 10, 2008 - 05:44am
Just watched RE3 last night, it wasn't bad. I hated the second, but found three to be an ok effort, definately worth a rent if you like the games or the genre.

Ashley Tisdale Fights Aliens from UPSTAIRS - Jan 10, 2008 - 05:42am

New Image of IRON MAN Online - Jan 09, 2008 - 07:12am
Mistakes were made on both sides, some mistakes that seemed to have a hand other than Cap and Tony's too. I think there is more to this story, but if Ironman is a Skrull, i will be pissed, that is an easy out for Marvel's writers. I'm not saying that the Skrulls should have nothing to do with these events, just don't cover Tony's, or Cap's for that matter, mistakes up by having them revealed to be a Skrull, that is a cop out, and an easy road to pointing the finger of blame for the entire Civil War scenario. If someone else was pulling the strings so be it, but lets have our main characters have to face what they did right, and what they did wrong. Oh yeah and I agree about the flick too, I see this as a pre Civil war Tony, it looks amazing.

New Image of IRON MAN Online - Jan 09, 2008 - 07:07am
Now this is a debate... I for one during Civil War was a neutralist... Cap went way over the top and outside the law to get his point across (which is not typical of the character) but pony is right about Stark, on several occations in Cival War he used his own grief over the "mistake" that cost so many childrens lives as the excuse to turn on friends, and in some cases use extreme force to get his point across. He did struggle with it, but when an extreme messure had to be taken, he was usually the guy behind the trigger. If anything, Civil War showed the very flawed nature of heros.

Redband Trailer for THE SIGNAL - Jan 09, 2008 - 07:01am
daforce is right, this is very silular to king's Cell (which is a great read by the way, and a bit of a departure from the normal King spooktaculars, very raw) except in cell the transmission is sent solely through cell phones. This does look cool however.

New Image of IRON MAN Online - Jan 09, 2008 - 06:25am
WOOOAAAHHHH... Dazzler is pro registration, that's pretty cool, I've heard way to many arguments this year that supported Cap's side of things and not enough for Stark's.

Producer Talks G.I JOE and TRANSFORMERS 2 - Jan 08, 2008 - 06:04pm
That a boy gauley, even mad lightens up, you have to around here, besides, we have so much to look forward to... There's GI JOE, TF2 and of course 50 maniacs getting their panties in a bunch over michael bay films... it's the small things in life gauley, the small things in life... OH YEAH, let me just say it one more time... GRIMLOCK... OOOOOOOOOHHHH that was sexy... I'm gonna hit that again... GRIMLOCK...... I know people don't agree but I think the big dumb Dinobot could be a sweet addition. Oh yeah, and i want me some Soundwave too!

Producer Talks G.I JOE and TRANSFORMERS 2 - Jan 08, 2008 - 05:14pm
gauly, you know I have love for TF just like you, but I think almost and a lot of the guys just wanted something a little more traditional... I mean fun or not, some of the stuff was a little out there, even I could have done without the whole tiptoeing through the backyard deal, and agree with most than Anderson and Tuturro could have been left on the cutting room floor, hell i even agree that the Decepticons needed a bigger role. The only time I get pissed off is when people on this site start trying to make it sound like you have to be an idiot to have liked it. Bay films are almost always fun, and the FX were top notch, so i liked it. I totally agree with you that the sorce material is not a masterpiece of American fiction, but there are a few things Bay could have done to follow the old formula a little better. But Bay is a smarter guy than fans give him credit for. I think he knows what audiences will be looking for in a sequel. Hell I thought Bad Boys 2 would be the equivelent of fimed monkey turds, but i hate to admit it, it was some of the most fun I've had at the theatre (I'm sure many would disagree), so I'm ready for TF2.

Producer Talks G.I JOE and TRANSFORMERS 2 - Jan 08, 2008 - 03:47pm
I know not everyone is excited about these two movies but I am optimistic. I enjoyed TF on a guilty pleasure level and would hope GI Joe and TF2 will be as much popcorn fun.

Freddy's Back with a New NIGHTMARE? - Jan 07, 2008 - 02:39am
plasticfruit, unfortunately Freddy has been heavy in dark comedy ever since part 3, and Jason vs. Freddy was loaded with it, most unintentional. You are right though, if they want to get back on the good foot, they should go back to the first fim and take a lokk at what made Freddy scary.

Update: Oil Platform destroyed by CLOVERFIELD Monster - Jan 07, 2008 - 02:36am
I am really looking forward to this one, this clip is sweet.

Maggie Gyllenhaal Talks Dawes in DARK KNIGHT - Jan 07, 2008 - 02:31am
It just shows how the genre is evolving. The comic to movie franchise is the real deal now. But studios seem to be maturing in that they are making an effort to get the end product right, and allow very creative and talented people behind the projects. This is most likely because now that comic movies have saturated the market, they've realized that sticking a costume on just anyone, with a script by someone who doesn't care about the source material won't work anymore. At least i hope that is the case for 2008, because I would love for Ironman, DK, and Hulk to all be awesome... if they are we all win.

Marlon Wayans Holds Ripcord in G.I JOE - Jan 07, 2008 - 02:24am
Alkl the Wayans's are very talented, they just get pidgeon holed for there comedies, which are a little played out these days. I wasn't paying a lot of attention to this film, but the more I here the more i am softening... here's hoping it's a lot of fun.

Weta Workshop Handling JLA Costumes - Jan 07, 2008 - 02:21am
I agree, but I just hope that they stay true to the designs and don't go too far off point. Constumes have to change from the page to the screen, and sometimes it works (Spiderman), sometimes it doesn't (Superman Returns). Let's hope they bring the realism but still look the way we expect them too.

Navigating the Mania Map - Jan 06, 2008 - 08:33am
I agree with Merin in this case, but I can desern one thing, If anyone under the alias AUL or HBB posts on the site we should pay attention, basically i guess something interesting was overlooked on the 20th and due to that they feel they can continue to communicate sensative info to each other while we go on about our oblivious business.

Routh is Still SUPERMAN for WB - Jan 05, 2008 - 03:35am
I loved Routh's Kent but just couldn't get into him as Supes... howver he was definitely not why I didn't dig the film. I just didn't like the story. It's fun to bash SR but I still think they could get a sequel right and I'm willing to give Routh another shot, but as mentioned earlier not the writer.

Favreau Talks IRON MAN - Jan 04, 2008 - 02:20am
I am almost looking as forward to this as the Hulk, I think Ironman is going to surprise a lot of people.

Routh Out of SUPERMAN Sequel? - Jan 04, 2008 - 02:18am
This has got to be balogna... I can almost see the replacing Routhe, but Bales Batman will not be replaced with some kiud from this film... no way... at least I hope not. I give Superman Returns a hard time, i mean it just wasn't what I was looking for, but it had it's moments, and still seems 1000 times better than some new kid and his 90210 friends flying around as the Justice League and then taking over the franchises IMHO.

I AM LEGEND 2 On the Horizon - Jan 03, 2008 - 05:54pm
Maybe in the sequel, Neville is alive, but travelled in to space looking for a cure, when he returns to earth he see's that much has changed. The female lead has had another child, this one baring a striking resemblance to Neville, so he hangs around outside her house looking through her windows and shit. The leader of the dark seekers is also alive and planning to make a huge island of Kryptonite..... ohhhhh wait that sounds really shitty, and oddly familiar.... hmmmmm.

Favreau Expresses Interest in AVENGERS - Jan 03, 2008 - 05:48pm
I've said it before, there is no guarantee that this will work, but it is a hell of a lot better than the ruch job JLA. Only time will tell, and if it works, ultimately we all win.

Bay Promises More Robots in TRANSFORMERS 2 - Jan 03, 2008 - 02:16am
Transformers was great, I had an absolute blast watching it as well. I guess i walked into it with the right expectations (the old cartoon, Michael Bay) and got exactly what i expected and more. If there are more bots in the next one here is who i want to see! Autobots Cliffjumper Prowl Mirage Jet Fire Sunstreak Dinobots, especially Grimlock Ultra Magnus Decepticons Soundwave (if they can get him right) Constructicons and Devastator. In fact that would be a sweet story, Decepticons implement the combiner Devastator to destroy the Autobots, and the bots respond with the Dinobots to stop it. Long story short, I will be their for this one.

Top Performers for 2007 & A Look at 2008 - Jan 02, 2008 - 05:38pm
gauly, don't bother dude... merin is far too busy flexing his intellectual prowess and stroking that massive ego, to identify with anything you are trying to say. Somehow he can manage to do internet searches for philosophers top ten lists but yet isn't sharp enough to get the fact that you disagree with him and no amount of moaning will change that. I mean come on how self absorbed do you have to be to think that people writing on an "opinion board" are expressing their personal opinions just to bait "you". How dare we disagree with the mighty Merin. Dude, suck it up. You want to end this, I'll help you... here is your direct quote: "Iron Man and Hulk - they aren't household names like Spider-Man, Superman and Batman, so it's really hard to predict." They aren't household names, that is your words. Several of us geeks happen to disagree, and well, without having to argue about it... the Hulk has been comic ICON for the last four decades junior, He had several animated TV series, a live action series, 4 TV movies, A big budget film, and countless times has been a toy, video game, had his face printed on cereal boxes, underwear, bubblebath, etc, and he has been referenced in pop culture Thousands of times (Simpsons, Family Guy, Saturday night live and the list goes on). Now I'm missing all that market research experience but i do live on a little planet called Earth, where even my grandmother knows who the Hulk is. Hey she's 89, she probably would agree with you on that whole Flash Gordon deal. However, if you are trying to say that Spidey Supes and Bats are a little bigger, I agree... DID YOU HEAR THAT... I AGREE, maybe better liked as well, but not more of a household name. The term "household name" does not refer to popularity, or notoriaty... it simply means that in any given household people would recognize the name... If you put Supes, Spidey, Bats, Hulk and Flash Gordon in a police line up, and brought like a thousand people from across the globe in behind the two way glass, do you really think they would be like, "Well officer, I see Spiderman, Batman, The Man of Steel, and my personal favorite in the shiny red tights, Flash Gordon, I mean who wouldn't know him... but the 7 foot, green skinned monster... well sir ya see I'm just not sure, is it that Dr, Jekyl fella... Oh no wait, it's Godzilla!" Now you have baited me in kind sir, and I can't wait to read the response, I'll clear an hour off my schedule. I must get back to that geeky circle of mine. Go easy on me, and please keep three small things in mind. One, it's just a message board, be prepared to argue, and don't take it so personal especially the zingers. Two, all the research in the world does not make your opinion any more valid than any one elses. And Three, Hulk will rule in 08!

Top Performers for 2007 & A Look at 2008 - Jan 02, 2008 - 08:59am
The Hulk is not a household name..... hmmm, maybe not as popular as the other guys, but not a househol name, I wonder... I for one liked Spidey 3, loved parts of it. It was well done, but i am on the opposite side of the opinion alot have expresed when it comes to wha was wrong about it. Most sais just keep Venom out, I say, if they opted eiminate the Sandan all together and let Tobey and Topher hve a little fun ith the Brock Parker, Venom Spiderman dynamic, it would of wen from a very good movie, to an excellent one. I loved Rami's vision of Brock as a snivelling bak stabber who bevomes a serious threat once he gets some power in his hands, and i really liked the whole inner struggle deal Pete faced (with the exeption of he club scene, the srutting in the street was hilrious, but the silly behavior sould have pulled a George at that point and ended on a high note). There was just way too much going on as Rami tried to triple the villains and tie up all loose ends. Still though, it was an awesome popcornaction movie and I enjoyed myself. Interested to see what if anything comes next.

Look of the New INCREDIBLE HULK - Dec 24, 2007 - 02:18am
I think I just crapped in my pants.... This is exactly the look I was hoping for... very faithful to the comic, very Return of the Monster. This image does look airbrushed however so I wonder if it is legit. EITHER WAY ONE THING IS FOR CERTAIN.... I CAN NOT WAIT FOR JUNE 13th 2008!!!!

First Teaser Trailer for HELLBOY II - Dec 21, 2007 - 02:44pm
One word..... SCHWEEEEEEEEEET!

LEGEND Opens Big in IMAX - Dec 19, 2007 - 04:29pm
Hate gettin sucked into this stuff but i'll give it a go... (***Some spoilers below) The virus turned people in to Vampire creatures, no longer humans, and appeared to give them strength, agility, and a thirst for blood.... most of us watching the movie got that, why did it have to be explained any further? I would say thye length of the movie was intentional, because 2/3rds Smith was alone, and to keep the pace brisk they didn't get bogged down in background. The flashbacks to his wife and son were designed to let us in on who Neville was and how much he has lost, as well as why he is content to stay on the island (no one to look for), and why Sam was so important to him, and IMHO worked well. Uh... who cares where the leader came from, he was some kind of Alpha male, did you need to see a vignette about his early years after infection and rise to become mutant/vampire president. Lastly, why would he have two exits in his basement... they did not go there because there was no other way out, they went there because they were trying to take cover. This is where he worked every day in broad daylight, the chances of getting trapped down there during the day were slim (but if he did, he had his lovely little hidey hole, he spent his nights in the bathtub upstairs, where I'm sure he was aware of possible exits. Uh the word nitpicking comes to mind... If you didn't like the story cool, i did, but don't try to shoot holes in it, because it was very well done, even if it wasn't your cup of tea.

Jackson Explains 'Not' Directing THE HOBBIT - Dec 19, 2007 - 04:11pm
You know what they say... good things come to those who wait... and I would be willing to wait for Jackson... That being said, i am sure his close involvment as producer will mean that the right director and writers will be chosen.

New Line/Peter Jackson Case Settled, Jackson Produces HOBBIT - Dec 18, 2007 - 09:13pm
This was my favorite book as a child, as much as I loved LOTR I always wished that this would come first... better late than never. Thank God for PJ
