Madsen Faces HAUNTING

Gold Circle and director Peter Cor have set Virginia Madsen to star in A HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT.

Based on a true story, the film will center on a family forced to relocate near a clinic where their teenage son is being treated for cancer. There, they discover that the home they have rented is a former mortuary with a dark history that might account for the extraordinary manifestations of the boy's illness and the supernatural events that threaten the family.

Tim Metcalfe and Adam Simon wrote the script . Paul Brooks, Andrew Trapani, Wendy Rhoads and Daniel Farrands will produce.  Shooting will begin in the late summer.

I don't care about the story. Virginia Madsen's in this and that's all I need to buy a ticket. Not only is she drop dead gorgeous, she's a terrific actress.

She was my favorite part of Smith, before it was unjustly canned.
Does anyone happen to know when this supposed supernatural event took place?

Oh great, another haunted house movie. Why is it that families find themselves in old, beat up, run down, creepy houses in movies? The Messengers comes to mind as an example of this. What people in real life would ever want to live in such a house?

Before any of you say this is based off a true story, I challenge all of you to investigate the actual events of this tale. I don't know the details, but I doubt this pitch here closely resembles what really had happened.

I agree about VM, she has put together an impressive resume and has to be one of the most underrated actresses around.

I like haunted house flicks, and this could be good. I like Virginia Madsen very much.

It's supposed to be based on the experiences of Carmen Snedeker and her family. Carmen had a large family, so two of the kids had to sleep in the old mortuary exam rooms (they were fixed up - hopefully?). When the boys began coming upstairs at night because it was 'haunted', the parents started locking the door to keep them down there at night. Carmen said that the ghostly activity was exaggerated in the book and documentary, but the family still insists they experienced your basic, run-of-the-mill haunting. Shades of Amityville.

I'd like Madsen to bear my children.

Watch this be another PG-13 crapfest like "The Messangers."
