Ian McKellenrecently made a splash at a solo stage performance in Vancouver. The X-Menand Lord of the Rings star put on his one man show, called "AKnight Out", for a fundraiser at The Vancouver Playhouse Theatre. The onetime event had very little publicity and was only announced a week in advance,but tickets still sold out and Sir Ian got rave reviews.
For ninetyminutes McKellen entertained and delighted the audience with personal stories,and readings from both Shakespeare and The Lord of the Rings. Heanswered questions from the audience as well.
Several goodiesfrom both X-men I and II and Lord of the Ringswere auctioned off. The white shoes McKellen wore at the end of thefirst X-men movie (in the jail cell) were sold for $200 dollars,and a necklace with the X-men II logo on went for $400. An X-menII poster, singed by the entire cast was also auctioned off, for upwardsof $1000.
Other castmembers, including Alan Cummings, Hugh Jackman and even Director Bryan Singerare rumored to have been in attendance as well.
