Major Spoiler of DARK KNIGHT Hits Online

By: Jarrod Sarafin, News Editor

I'll say again that a MAJOR SPOILER is linked in this article for Nolan's upcoming THE DARK KNIGHT as an added warning with the title of this article. Obviously, this spoiler could end up false but when one considers previous "casting calls" made just a few weeks ago that included what looked like a funeral procession scene and a call for real police officers to show up on set, I'm going to treat this with the care that it deserves. I even questioned publishing this article but I chose to do it anyway with the clear "warnings" that you readers deserve. If you do not want to have this major spoiler thrown your way, I'd advise you leave this article right now and do not read the comments of people who do click on the link below.

Alright, now that I've given sufficient "Spoiler" warnings here...Here's where you can read the bit leaked. Pan down the page of the link I provide until you come to the section titled "Dead Wrapped in Flowers".

You have been warned, click here and pan down to that section for a Major DARK KNIGHT Spoiler.

DARK KNIGHT hits theaters everywhere on July 18, 2008.

Thanks to veteran Mania Scooper, Daforce, for passing this bit along...

They killed him off??? Sounds typical!!! Isn't this a common racial stereotype???

Maybe he had another Almighty sequel to do...?

Hrmmmm... what about his character would warrant a full police send off?

I don't know about a common racial stereotype, but how do we know that the scene of a funeral procession of Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman character, respectively), isn't part of an elaborate scene cooked up by Batman/Bruce Wayne & Lucius Fox in the upcoming Dark Knight movie? If Lucius Fox is "killed" off in the Dark Knight---That would probably mean a possible build-up for Robin, if there will be a Robin in the third movie? Or, Freeman might be replaced with another actor in the role of Lucius Fox...For all we know, perhaps actor Morgan Freeman has 4 or 5 movies projects ahead of him, which would consume a great amount of his time, and possibly his agent had informed Nolan & WB studios about it, thus rewriting a scene where Fox gets 86'ed, so in reality, Freeman can pursue other aspects? Then again, I don't know, you'll have to call Freeman's agent.

Very good point chirop. Why all the cops? Hmmm. Either way, I'm not that spoiled. I'm surprised the brotha lasted the first movie. It's part of the Hollywood credo. Heck they even did it to Jazz in Transformers. I picked Tyrese to get it at the start of the movie but now he just doesn't get a Transformer of his own. That would've been a movie in itself. Kind of like the original 'Friday'

I could be wrong, but the police procession that was described in an earlier article asking for real police officers to be cast seemed to me to be a funeral procession honoring one of their own. While police do escort funerals the only reason they would have such a mass of police would be if they were escorting a politician or more likely that some one on the force was killed and they are performing the official ceramony with 7 gun salute and all. Lucius Fox is a business man and scientist and would not warrent such an honor. My guess is that the Commissioner from Batman Begins is going to be killed by the Joker and Gordon will then be promoted to the position.

I might take this with a grain of salt. Full police procession- that character maybe would have most of the wayne corp employees at the funeral but the entire police force?
Oh and Bale already said no Robin. Of course it is WB and they write the checks so if they say Robin well there isn't much Bale can do since he is already signed for the 3rd film.
Damn Morgan lasted 2 movies? Wow Billy Dee Williams only lasted one then they gave the character to someone else.

according to imdb Freeman has 13 projects coming up that are either filming now,in production or completed...so maybe he was too busy for the 3rd one?

Not available for what would amount to about 15 to 20 minutes screen time, which was the total time he was seen in Batman Begins??? Surely, he could easily find two weeks to film his entire part in this movie, without forcing the producers to write out his character!!!

With a schedule that intense, metalwater, maybe he wants those two weeks off to recoupe from the hellacious shooting schedule he seems to have cooked up for himself. I'm not sure how old the bloke is, but he's been around since the late 80's and is obviously not a young man anymore.
