Jack Bauer's 24 Stopped for 18 Days - Sep 08, 2008 - 06:46am
I guess I'm the only one that thinks this is good? I sure don't want them pulling a "Lost" and getting bored halfway through the season. Take the time and let the writers get their act together before committing something to celluloid..
Bond's SOLACE Moves Back a Week - Aug 21, 2008 - 06:36pm
Yay! Continuing the tradition of a Bond movie on my Birthday!
As for the Gadgets, they've just been way over the top lately..
Update: Morgan Freeman Okay After Car Accident - Aug 04, 2008 - 04:44pm
"Actor Christian Bale, star of the Batman blockbuster movie "The Dark Knight" on Tuesday denied allegations of assault made by his mother and sister after he was questioned by London police.
The 34-year-old spent several hours at a London police station before being released without charge, his Los Angeles-based spokeswoman, Jennifer Allen said.
"Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister," Allen said in a statement.
"Mr. Bale, who denies the allegation, cooperated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police."
He was never arrested. He went to the station voluntarily and left without any charges. The "arrest" allegations were made by the press.
Blizzard's STARCRAFT II Hitting Dec 3? - Jun 24, 2008 - 09:28am
There's a Mantra for those of us that are Blizzard fans. "If the news hasn't been officially released by Blizzard, it's a rumor."
ASSASSIN'S CREED - Mar 26, 2008 - 03:45pm
Merin
It's true you play an assassin, but interestingly enough, there is a very strong sense of honor in the whole thing. Think of it as playing a Lawful Evil character. Trying to not give away too much, but your character has to redeem himself in the eyes of his order because he has slipped so low. There are lessons to be learned, correct ways of doing things, even for someone in the profession he is in.
I think you'll enjoy it if you concentrate more on the narrative of the story instead of the acts you sometimes take..
DEATHLY HALLOWS Split into Two Films - Mar 13, 2008 - 02:24pm
What annoys me is I'm going to have to change platforms in order to watch the movies. I already have the first batch in HDDVD. Blasted Sony and their deep pockets..
NARUTO Volume 28 - Mar 05, 2008 - 06:08am
*forehead smack*
Thanks Adam. I should pay more attention. I've been watching the subbed anime episodes online.
NARUTO Volume 28 - Mar 04, 2008 - 10:27am
Looks like this volume is the beginning of the Shippuden series. I'm curious, was it dubbed or subbed?
DiCaprio & WB Developing AKIRA Movies - Feb 21, 2008 - 08:55am
Yeah, I'm going to have to echo Skyn here..
I don't see how they are going to adapt this movie without making it R, if not NC-17. At least not while doing it any justice.
TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES: Gnothi Seauton - Jan 17, 2008 - 07:28am
I too went into watching the series not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. Summer was a bit typecast, but is doing a good job as a Terminator. As for the "seemingly human" aspect in the beginning, remember the T2 model pulled off a very good cop impersonation when he was canvasing for John. I haven't caught the second episode yet, so can't comment on anything further than that.
I do want to say, though, the Terminator model in the first episode got the feel and action down perfect. If anything, that's what hooked me on the series. Also the little hints to the original soundtrack made me grin. (I'm big into movie scores)
All in all, I'm hopeful for the series.
New DOOMSDAY Photos and Trailer Online - Jan 16, 2008 - 11:46am
Hmm, I dunno. I saw a preview of the movie and I got to say ... it's a mixture of Pitch Black, X-Men 3, Aeon Flux, Doom, Alien 3 and a touch of When Harry Met Sally.
Oh, and I forgot to add. I'll probably check it out with the guys at Alamo Drafthouse..
HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX - Dec 27, 2007 - 10:27am
Just want to chime in and agree about the climatic battle near the end. 4 people in my entertainment room all had their breaths held through the whole thing. Very impressive.
15 Films Up for 2007 Visual Effects Oscar - Dec 17, 2007 - 10:12am
Man, that's a tough list.
I'm thinking 300, Beowulf and Pirates..
As much as Transformers looked nice, it didn't break any new ground.. Pirates is in the list simply because of the former 2.
First PUNISHER:WAR ZONE Pic - Dec 06, 2007 - 05:44pm
Dolph's was first.
But yes, I agree. Thomas Jane was an excelent Punisher.
First Six Minutes of DARK KNIGHT Revealed - Dec 04, 2007 - 11:02am
Perhaps none of you remember the end of "Begins"? The whole Island being bathed in neuro-toxic chemicals? I'm guessing the Joker was hit by a concentrated dose of it or some such.
Lawrence Talks CONSTANTINE 2 Possibilities - Dec 03, 2007 - 07:52am
Wait. Where's Metalmaniac? He should be here saying he's got a treatment for C2 that will revolutionize the movie industry and cure world hunger.
*chuckle*
Anyway, I liked the movie as well. Good ambiance, cool plot, and no matter what anyone says, Keanu does play his niche roles very well. No, I have not read the comics, so I'm doing no comparison. I tend to be very forgiving of the silver screen, though, because there is only so much you can put up there that will cater to the masses. Comics can hit niche audiences all they want. Movies have to get as many people in as possible to make revenue.
GOLDEN COMPASS Director Answers Fan Questions - Nov 23, 2007 - 05:05pm
Hmm.. don't remember anyone making big noises saying "Yes, the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is heavily influenced by Christian beliefs.." etc etc.
Let people take out of the movie what they will. there's no need to alienate the audience to the point that they fear seeing a movie and risk being ostracised..
HELLGATE:LONDON Goes Live - Oct 19, 2007 - 11:45am
Been in beta for a while. Game has a lot of potential.
INDIANA JONES Deals with Robbery - Oct 03, 2007 - 08:42am
Actually a lot of key plot points were leaked by said actor. Spielberg has promised this person will never act again. Not only that but all of the scenes with the actor are being cut from the film. One of the hottest films next year being leaked? I wouldn't be happy if I were him either...
RESIDENT EVIL Takes Top Spot - Sep 24, 2007 - 08:09am
RE: Metalwater. ...... What???? Seriously, how clueless are you?
First of all, the Reavers. They are not Zombies. They are human beings that rape and kill their victims, wearing their flesh as a trophy. Not to mention splattering the gore all around and on their ships. If I were to take the moral high ground, I'd state the RE3 is a lot more ..safe.. than Serenity. And I -like- Firefly more than the RE series.
RE3 is a popcorn Flick. Anyone a fan of the series or any other zombie action flick will have a good time with it.
RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION - Sep 22, 2007 - 03:50pm
I'm glad I can go to movies and enjoy them. Must be hard to be entertained when you're expecting Oscar style theatrics out of every movie made.
Rated R JOHN RAMBO Trailer #2 - Sep 09, 2007 - 10:45am
Grindhouse made the mistake of opening opposite a family film on a family holiday weekend. Poor planning in that sense. Not only that but it was an extremely long film. The movie itself was good. They just made poor distribution choices..
Creators, Craig Talk JAMES BOND 22 - Sep 09, 2007 - 09:38am
Wow.
First of all, let me congratulate metalwater for a very successful trolling. You've even got me riled up enough to comment.
Seriously, man. I have a feeling you haven't got the vaguest idea of what entertainment is. It seems like you've got a bad case of shell shock. Did the government stiff you out of some money or something?
Trying to say CR didn't have the guts to tie itself to real American "conspiracies" is like saying Borat should have tried harder to be a real cultural sensitivity movie. Or the remake of Halloween is a testament of today's mental health facility underfunding.
Not every movie is out there to make a point, or to prove GWB is evil and should be impeached. CR was not a documentary. Hell, it was barely even brought to the USA in plot.
And comparing Transporter 2. Yeah, sorry. That ruined your credibility right there. Two totally different genres.
I thought Casino Royale did a wonderful job in stepping away from the gadget orgasms the the previous few films were. It was getting ridiculous. It was a breath of fresh air for the franchise and I"m eagerly waiting the next installment.
"Battlestar Galactica" renewed for 4th season - Feb 15, 2007 - 12:32pm
Well if they continue to stretch the season out like they have this on, I may fall asleep. I love the show, and all, but I think the internal conflicts of the characters have taken over a bit much. As a friend of mine pointed out, we haven't seen anyone pilot a Viper pretty much all season. I kind of miss the white knuckle hide and seek the Humans and Cylons were playing. Now it's just a race to find Earth with both players pretty much ignoring each other..
Beau Bridges updates "Stargate" - Dec 08, 2006 - 02:58pm
There will be a couple of D2D movies, one of them completeing the Ori plotline. Not sure about the others.
But there is also speculation of there being a Stargate Movie, which does not use the TV series as it's jumping point, but uses the original movie as a basis.
KNIGHT RIDER Poster online - Oct 04, 2006 - 07:08am
Hmmm.. Is that a Bugatti? If so, I think I'll go see it just for the car.
DEAD RISING Contest - Jul 27, 2006 - 02:57pm
Hmm.. someone has their info wrong somewhere
http://ww2.capcom.com/deadrising/
According to the website it is "Only on Xbox 360"
And I've been following the game for quite a while. I'm pretty sure the Xbox would not be able to handle the game as it is.
DEAD RISING Contest - Jul 27, 2006 - 08:03am
"The game solely on Xbox is due to be released August 8th, be sure to check it out."
It's actually an Xbox 360 game. There's a big difference, heh.
I guess I'm the only one that thinks this is good? I sure don't want them pulling a "Lost" and getting bored halfway through the season. Take the time and let the writers get their act together before committing something to celluloid..
