Check out this behind the scenes featurette on Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. Here producers, cast, and crew discuss their real world and modern approach to Superman.

The Plot: A child sent to Earth from a dying planet is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, he uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil.

Man of Steel features Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Michale Shannon, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne.

The screenplay and story were written by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins). The film is directed by Zack Snyder (300 and Watchmen).

Man of Steel opens June 14th, 2013.

 Thislooks like it is going to be EPIC. It has been a long time coming. But  maybe just maybe we have found a good Superman. Now if they want to through a family member in the mix lets try Supergirl. What in gods name was Singer thinking about introducing the son of Superman? I mean he had other directions he could of gone. Kara would of made sense. Instead he ruined the franchise by writing a whole new story for Superman. I hope Nolan, Snyder, Goyer can save the Legacy of Superman.

I can't wait for this movie.  I think it will have a few flaws, but I also think it is still going to be quite awesome.

OK, now I have a random question.  In a lot of the trailers we see a little boy playing in the back yard with a red cape (like many of us did ourselves once when we were that age).  We are led to believe from the trailers that this is a young Clark (but I suppose we don't know that for sure).  So here is the question:  if that little boy is Clark, he is pretending to be... who exactly?  Thinking about this just makes me smile.  :)

Another random thought of the day: Deborah Snyder looks a hell of a lot like Jewel Staite (Kaylee from Firefly).  That's not a bad thing.  Nope, not at all.  :)

 I always see that little boy as an after the movie moment. Like in Armegeddon. People are now looking up to Superman.

Superman is a tough nut to crack on film and I hope this one turns out well.  Not sure Snyder was the right guy for this project, but I respect his other work, so I'll give it a shot.  In the clip however, you can never trust what anyone with the word producer says next to their name when it comes to the content of a film.  Writers and directors maybe, but producers are car salesmen.  Also, I thought Russell Crowe was great casting until last year when Mania ran the behind the scenes pic with Crowe in the Jor El costume with his gut hanging out, having a smoke.  Now I can't get that image out of my head whenever I see him in the trailer.

400 Million. Tops.

Real world Superman = Area 51 experiment with genetic cloning.

DC = Death Certain

Love it! They are saying all the things I want to hear! It comes across as the proper re-boot of the character for our times.

People always complain that they don't like Superman because he's perfect, he can't be hurt, he can do anything, he has a blah personaility (uncool). Hopefully, this will solve that. The movie Captain America made a straight laced good guy a hero you wanted to be like instead of a gritty fellow like Wolverine or the Punisher. I want this to do the same. I want to see kids running around with red capes!

Really Laz?  400million tops?  is that domestic  or global?  I think if the buzz is accurate on this one then it'll hit 1billion for sure!

If superman were real, no amount of technology would be able to contain him for area 51 experiments, nor would they be able to extract a DNA sample from him to make a clone.....they tackled this in the comics way back in 1993 by using a retinal scan.....don't know if that would work.......oh yeah I guess Lex Luthor used a piece of his hair in that quest for peace movie......but again I don't think you'd be able to extract anything from his indestructable body.....fictional characters right?  It's funny how we suppose.......

@Lazarus, you're low balling man, and @wish, you're dreaming.  I'd bet the domestic is around $400 million and the gross is around $650-$700.  It will make enough to warrant a sequel or use Cavill for World's Finest, whichever route they go.  @monkeyfoot, I totally agree with what you'd like to see in a Superman reboot, but I'm not sure how you're seeing it in the trailers that have been released.  All I see is the grittier, colorless Snyder look and an emotionally distant Kal El.  Curiosly, no scenes with an adult Clark in the trailers, which I find interesting because Brandon Routh was a great Superman, just a bad Clark Kent.  I hope Man of Steel is what you want it to be.  I also think it should be like Cap, in fact, Joe Johnston would have made a fine directorial choice.  Fingers crossed.

You're damn right I'm dreaming about a Superman movie that grosses a billion dollars globally!!  I've found that in the past I've usually fallen in the group of people that likes a movie that does really well at the box long as it's the type of movie I enjoy of course......ya know......not Twilight.......
