Man of Steel Sequel Green-lighted

Yep, already!

Yahoo Movies has broken the exclusive news that the Man of Steel has been green-lighted for a sequel.

Warner Bros Pictures is fast-tracking the Superman reboot sequel with its successful twosome already in place: Zack Snyder reprising as director and David S. Goyer repeating as screenwriter. Goyer’s deal is part of a huge 3-picture deal he signed at Warner Bros for Man Of Steel, the sequel, andJustice League with Superman”. - Nikki Finke

So what role will Christopher Nolan take in both the second and third installment? Better yet, will we finally see Brainiac in a Superman movie? Let us not forget Meteallo, Bizzaro, The Parasite, Doomsday, and Darkseid as other major villains that could have screen time as well.

The Man of Steel opens June 14th, 2013.

I'm not sure if he'll be the main villain or a villain at all yet but I'm sure there will be set up for Luthor in the next movie.

Hope Luthor is played by Michael Rossenbaum, he nailed it on Smallville and was the only good thing about that show.

I think Brainiac seems like obvious choice for the sequel from what I've read about this one

I can see Luthor being worked in for sure. But they have to build towards something or someone bigger if JL is the 3rd film.

Either way good news although not surprising even though I expected this after opening weekend. Guess ticket sales have been strong enough to signal a success.

The 1 big question is whether or not we get solo films and build like Marvel did or go straight JL from MOS2. I hope they do like Marvel. We can have MOS2, a new Batman, Flash and pretty damn please AQUAMAN

A sequel being green lit the week before the movie breaks, along with a big press release making everyone aware of it.  This seems terribly familiar.  It's the exact same thing WB did before the release of Green Lantern.  If this announcement was supposed to inspire confidence in Man of Steel for me, it failed miserably.  It only causes concern that the film won't live up to the hype.

Read alot of GL comparisons on mania and other sites. MOS has a lot going for it that GL movie didn't. Differnt director/screenwriter/and a big name director acting as producer all of whom have previous track records of huge success. Comparison seems apples and oranges to me.

ffffffffuuuuuccccckkkkk yesssssss!!!!! It was awesome can't wait to see 2&3 dammnnnn... but gotta say after watching the movie MOS bringing in Lex would only kill superman in the movie sorry guys i think they need to go ahead stay hard core and increase the level of supermans potential . Because in MOS he kicks major botty, wish i could say more but that would be messed up for you all. all i can say is In Your Face MARVELNITES, and DC haters daddy is back!!!!!!

That is true, however, Green Lantern had a hired gun for a director in the name of Martin Campbell of Casino Royale and Goldeneye fame.  I must admit that I am feeling a lot better about the previews than I did for the Green Lantern movie though.  I hope WB isn't putting the cart in front of the horse again...

If it is Lex again in anouther movie I'm gonna flip, there are so many good villians out there. We have had how many with Lex and this is the second one with Zod, let's give a different villian a shot at the big screen.
