Want to manage some humanoids? Los Angeles-based Humanoids Publishing, a division of The Humanoids Group, is looking for a capable individual to fill the position of Managing Editor for its line of comic books, graphic albums and trade book collections. Here's your chance to guide the efforts of comic book professionals!
According to Humanoids Publishing, responsibilities include:
Coordinate the work of freelance creators and translators for publication
Schedule completion of work to meet deadlines
Editing comic book story pages including art errors and proofreading
Develop and write additional editorial and ad material as necessary
Assist marketing and design departments with editorial matters
Review international comics for publication in the U.S.
Evaluate and recommend artists, writers and new story ideas
Candidate should have the following skills:
Knowledgeable about comic book storytelling techniques
Desktop computer literate including Windows and other popular software
Aware of the production process for comics
Proven ability to meet deadlines
Sharp writing and editing skills; excellent proofreader
Appreciation for mature comic book literary content
Familiarity with international comics a plus
French language skills are a plus, but not required.
Under the leadership of its chairman, Fabrice Giger, The Humanoids Group publishes graphic novels and comic books through Humanoids Publishing, and also runs a 3-D animation and visual effects studio, an animation software development company and a company that develops interactive, role-playing computer games.
