The filmed adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's controversial anti-superhero book 'The Boys' now has a team developing the script.
Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay have landed the job of penning the screenplay for the film. The pair are best known for movies like 'Aeon Flux' and 'Crazy/Beautiful'. They also wrote a draft of the long-gestating Dark Horse adaptation 'R.I.P.D.' which is in development at Universal.
Neal H. Moritz and his Columbia-based Original Films shingle are producing the project about an elite squad of operatives, known informally as "the boys," whose job is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or eliminate them.
Kickstart's Jason Netter and attorney-cum-producer Ken Levin are also producing.
