Manga Sales Rose Slightly in America

At last weekend's New York Comic Con, the ICv2 retail service announced its sales findings for the year of 2007 in the world of manga and graphic novels. It seems that manga sales grew overall in the marketplace but not by very much, only beating its 2006 totals by 10 mil at $210 million, which is a 5% increase.

The service also reports that manga sales rose in book store purchases while they dropped in comic book outlets, citing the overall saturation of manga titles for comic book outlets' shift in priorities. As a whole, the overall graphic novel industry rose to $375 million in 2007.
