Manga UK Announces New Anime Licenses Alongside Fairy Tail

Shikabane Hime and two Eden of the East movies as well

The always active Manga Entertainment UK Twitter account hit a goal of theirs today and that meant some new license announcements. The UK company is doing pretty good these days with a number of titles being announced and ramping up in some areas, though they've had setbacks when it comes to Blu-ray TV series releases. Movies, on the other hand, are doing well for them. So it's no surprise that they've picked up the second and third Eden of the East movies, King of Eden and Paradise Lost, which will be on both formats. The second movie is due out in June and the third in November, which gives hints for US fans as to what we can expect for the third feature from FUNimation.

They didn't stop there though as they announced that they'll be releasing a two disc set for Shikabane Hime on May 23rd.

Of very particular interest is that they've acquired the license for a series not yet licensed in the US for home video release with the announcement of Fairy Tail which will be out sometime in 2011. The series is currently seeing simulcast over on Crunchyroll but it's been an awkward one because episodes are taken down after thirty days from simulcast. That means if you missed parts of it, you'll likely not see it through Crunchyroll. It's currently in the sixties for episode count and that means the first 50+ episodes are not available, making it very hard for new viewers to jump onto it.
