The anime and manga release train continues as we work through recent material and some releases that have taken a bit of time to actually get in. On the DVD side of the world this morning, Chris has finally gotten in a copy of the standalone cutely violent show Magical Witch Punie-Chan which was released by Media Blasters back on 10/21/2008. The marriage of cute and violence certainly isn't new but it feels even less so after another recent show by the studio of a similar nature. Bryce is playing a bit of catch-up himself after working on series sets recently by taking a look at the 09/23/2008 release of Bleach Vol. #12 from Viz Media which brings out more of the anime adaptation of Tite Kubo's popular manga series.
For the manga world, Matthew's doing a double hit this morning with a look at a pair of very interesting books. First up on his plate is a look at the late November 2008 release of Higurashi (When They Cry) Vol. #1 from Yen Press. With the anime series concluding its first season release in the US from Geneon Entertainment, and the second season up in the air still, this may be the best way to get answers going forward. Going in another direction, but rated just as highly, Matthew has a look at the late September 2008 release of Sundome Vol. #3 by Kazuto Okada from Yen Press as well.
