Oh if only I could get a badge...

After a 15 year run of going, the last three years - couldn't make  it.  I know they are trying to be "fair" with the new badge system... but how about some love for us old timers?

I agree with you Davewriter.  I was successful in scoring SDCC badges both times I tried within the last three years.  Badges did sell out very quickly, but because we were prepared and followed careful instructions, my friends and I were able to get our badges.

However, I do think that the SDCC should reward loyalty with loyalty.  Let the long time attendees have a slightly higher priority.  After all, those are the people who have turned SDCC into what it is today.

We had to return our badges in 2011, so this will by my first ever trip to SDCC.  Really looking forward to it.

So can someone tell me why I had to split my comment into 3 separate posts (with the exact same txt) in order for it to show up???

I am soooo Jealous :)

Just a share... Check the lines.  There will be lines that wrap around the building.  And it is a big building.  Don;t just trust what the last person in line says.  Too often it is a case of - it's a long line, it must be for something kool.  It is too easy to spend a lot of time in a line only to find later it is for Smurfs vs Twight or some other crap.

Ask... ask... ask... There are lines that are hidden, just to help with crowd control.  There are also lines just to get the ticket that allows you the chance to buy... item.  Usually the Con only stuff.

Try to hit the dealer room early,  The A/C is on all night and it is like a meat locker in the morning but it won't last for long.  Also the crowds build quickly and you'll find yourself trying to hack your way through a wall of human (for the most part) flesh.

Make a list!  Do a quick first run of the room.  If lucky you can almost make that first pass in 1 1/2 - 2 hours.  But don't waste prescious time trying to find where it is you saw that Super Kool item again.  Wasn't next to the zombie pin-up girls...?  No, it was at booth 576.

Millean - you are so right!  Having to break stuff up into one or two lines is rather lame!
