monelonmonday I remember that rumor/story and it may be true but I do remember it popping up on April 1st. Make whatever assumptions you want but I personally don't buy it, just smell like one of those April fools joke which is why I never fed into it and why I think some sites ignored it

Yeah, that Ryan Reynolds stuff is bogus.  If they attach him as Batman then the series is screwed, whatever superhero movie he's in sucks.

WB and DC have their work cut out for them with a JLA movie. ESPECIALLY considering this particular Bat-film franchise took almost every bit of fantasy out of the entire Bat-verse...sad really.

I just can't see WB spending money to push for a JLA movie anytime soon. I hope I'm dead wrong about that though.

Let's consider the following:

Wonder Woman was shot down on the big screen and the small screen...thankfully the big screen version was shot down so Joss could make his epic masterpiece Marvel film...oh how the cards of fate are dealt.

Green Lantern was a decent movie...for us fanboys...but had the critics laughing in the aisles.

Batman- The Tim Burton version would have actually played well into a JLA film. Unfortunately, Nolan has shot that down with his 'Real-Life Batman'...isn't that an oxymoron?

Aquaman- Wasn't this supposed to be in the making once upon a time? I would pay to see it, but the critics of the real world would laugh harder than they did during the GL movie in my opinion.

Superman- The verdict on Supes is still up in the air... Bryan Singer's version wasn't terrible, but it lacked...well...a lot of things. Perhaps WB and DC can use this upcoming Superman movie to hint at the world outside Metropolis. Maybe even a scene after the credits a la Iron Man?

Flash- This would be a very enjoyable movie if done right. I think a Flash movie would perhaps even rival the Superman or the GL movies in $$$...thanks to a particular favorite TV show of the fanboys... The Big Bang Theory.

I really hope a JLA movie happens in our lifetime. I'm a really big fan of the Bruce Timm Justice Leage Unlimited series. Who would direct such a grand creature?

I'm with you GothicStorm I want a JLA film then my biggest comic book loves will have finally come to life although there are many more that I'd like to see down the road too

Well the optimist I am I believe this GL and Superman will lead into a DCU movieverse. Yeah GL bombed but it still managed over 200mil and I think they think the problems (script and direction) are fixable.

They could go according to their first plans and start with a JLA film but I think the Marvel model works best because it's a build up, you and the regular joes will know the characters some instead of introducing 3 or more superheroes  in one film and the average joe wondering who the eff they are and what are their powers.

Or I'll go back to my initial suggestion, do a World's Finest first, get everyone amped up and then expand the team up to a full JLA film

Hanso, I've been around...just haven't been posting as regularly as in the past.  A lot of times I see something to comment on, but there's like 60 comments and I don't have the time to read through them all.  And there's days where I get tied up and don't get a chance to visit for a day or 2 so I miss the conversation.

Trying to post more often though!

In the past, Warner Brothers were either too stupid or creatively lazy or perhaps even both to put out a JL movie.  However, with the tremendous success of The Avengers, that may change.  I wish DC would have better people than the ones at WB.  If they had those like the ones at Marvel who have much more enthusiasm for their properties and creative initiative then we would've likely seen other superhero movies already taken off like: Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and perhaps even Captain Marvel (AKA Shazam of course).

@ elbaz and wise

I know that in TV and movies, DC had a bigger slice until a few years back ... but in comics I always got the impression that Marvel was bigger and had the more cash to spend (and was overtly aggressive). They regularly dominated the sales charts and usually signed up MORE of the best talent. I dont know if its the working culture at DC or just that Marvel forked out the big dollars. As for Marvel having "better" people, from what I have read on Jim Lee and G Johns, they seem decent and down to earth. Dan Didio (?) seems out of touch though.

Now, for that JLA movie - yes a Worlds Finest does sound about right. A few characters could be spun off from that (Flash, WW, Aquaman) ... then a JLA movie ... yes yes - before i leave this earth lol.

If the new Superman movie underperforms or is an outright bomb the chances of a JLA movie getting made become zero. And any other DC movie making it to the theater less likely.

Don't really care for a JLA movie and obviously the Nolan Batman cannot be involved in any universe of the JLA since it's too different approach.

I am pretty sure a JLA movie would not work as much as the Avengers since not many people care about Aquaman or Martian Manhunter or even the Flash. Other then the big three of Batman, Superman and Wonder-Woman, all the other teamates are nowhere near as popular as Hulk or Black Widow or Hawckeye.

DC has 3 big superheroes and then lots of pocket changes. Marvel was able to position Iron-Man, Hulk, Thor and Cap as major powerhouses and it wouldn't work with Aquaman or Flash.

IMO anyway.

HEY!..... I care about the Flash!
