Avengers will take no-less than the #3 spot (due to the re-release of Titanic) It might go higher, but will at least be #3. You read it here FIRST!

karas- People are entitled to their opinions, but people are also entitled to make fun of their opinions too. >=) But still, what the other guys are saying is that he hasn't even expressed an opinion of whether he like it or not. But i'm telling you guys, his mind blew up!
Yeah, like we're all entitled to make fun of Violator and how ugly he is. And how ridiculous his opinion is. And how much we hate him cause he smells funny. Like...really funny...like...road kill mixed with puke, and corn. *shudders*.
Anyway. I agree with Karas...Violator is dumb. Oh wait...I mean that we can all like different things. And that Avengers was so super awesome that CrazyCeo's brain imploded from the shear greatness of the movie.
Hey if that's how you feel about me that's perfectly fine Higgy....... i mean you're entitled to feel that way..... shiet.....doesnt phase me at all yo!........
=.( .. ... ..
ElBaz, that post about A New Hope and what it meant to us as kids is spot-on. I don't think most of today's younger generation have any idea how influentual and monumental that movie was (and the way it changed cinema/movies). For those who have Netflix (the TV show one), check out a new documentary they put on there called "George Lucas vs. the World". It's fanstastic (just watched it last night) and really explains the cultural impact that movie had.
BTW, I like Star Wars and Star Trek, Pepsi and Coke, and McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy's. ;)
Another point to add to the whole Star Wars phenomena was the longevity in the theatres. Star Wars started in mid May and was still in theatres in September/October. Nowadays, even the biggest movies don't last long because the movie theatres make way for the next big thing. That's why I have to be picky and choosy during the summer and go see a movie opening weekend otherwise, you snooze you lose. Gotta wait for home video at only 3-4 months later.
A lot has changed over the years and it's fun to appreciate those great times as a kid.
To reiterate my point and cross reference with another Mania article (summer of 82), the summers of 81 and 82 had great movies to entertain us but I will always remember them as the summers I couldn't wait for Return of the Jedi. Empire's cliffhanger had us wait the 3 longest years of our lives. The days before internet spoilers and we knew next to nothing about RotJ. You think Lucas would have gotten away with his production of "Blue Harvest" today? Nope. Three years of counting down until we find out if Vader was really telling the truth to Luke. Those were good times and thank you Mr Lucas for including that in my childhood.
I like Pepsi too. Mostly Cherry Pepsi but not available in Canada. :(
There are some surprises in that top list... alice in wonderland??? proof there is something wrong with the movie going community at large lol. I gotta say, i'm abviously out of touch here. I didn't think much of the dark knight, despite being aussie & loving heaths joker. It was too long & christian bales voice was just laughable(reminded me of the over the top tough acting the kids love to see in wrestling) Anywho, I doubt avengers will be challenged. Perhaps there closest competition may come from somewhere ya'll forgot... the twilight finale? The movie i'm most looking forward to now is Prometheus.
Look, if CrazyCEO didn't like The Avengers that's OK. He's entitled to his opinion.
Between the Star Trek film and the Burton vs Nolan Batman debate I'm kind of the queen of the dissenting opinion here. It's OK to dislike a popular movie.
And things like Marvel vs DC or Star Trek vs Star Wars are pointless. It's all good. You can like both Pepsi and Coke, both cake and pie, Burger King, McDonalds AND Wendy's.
It's all good.
