In what was an expected win, The Hunger Games sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire took the box office this weekend. It has already set a record for November and has debuted in the same ranks as The Avengers, Iron Man 3, and the final Harry Potter. If you look at the numbers alone, in one weekend, Catching Fire is only 6 million dollars short of Thor: The Dark World’s entire take. That is impressive numbers for any sequel. What happens next over the holiday week should be interesting to see. Gravity is the only movie to remain in the top ten for as long as it has, 8 weeks. Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa is the next big winner with 5 weeks in the top 10.

Will you rush out to see the Hunger Games: Catching Fire again this week? Will Spike Lee’s Oldboy be on your plate this coming weekend? Outside of the usual genre fare, Dallas Buyers Club looks good and I am still trying to find time for 12 Years a Slave

What's more impressive is that it did those numbers without 3D.  With 3D it would certainly be #2, but I wonder if the bump would've been big enough to take the 1 spot from Avengers.

Anywho, haven't seen it yet but will try to do so once the hype dies down.

What's even more impressive is 2 weeks in a row with a box office report.

Even more impressive than that is one on Sunday evening.

Notice this started once I told Bob not to post any box office reports....reverse psychology, yeah. Of course that was after forward psychology didn't work

 Indeed.

I saw it with the missus and really enjoyed it. It was better than the first. I enjoyed the first but the story and quality of the film in general went way up with this one. Like from Star Wars to Empire. More character development and the plot starts to thicken. Now I'm curious to see how it all ends.

LMAO Wise. I was surprised too. Guess they figured they had to address the gross this week. Could you do that reverse psychology and get them to bring back the spinner rack?

I'm down with the spinner rack.  I am currently looking to expand my pull list, and the content AND the comments on this site have always been dead on for a good read.

I am set for next Saturday for Catching Fire, and am pretty pumped for it.

Its snowing here. I'm not leaving the house for anything less than a hobbit this month.

I miss TV Wasteland.  Badly.

Didn't see a movie this weekend.  Maybe tomorrow when movies ar $5 at my local theater.

Didn't see anything either. I still haven't seen the first Hungry Man Dinner Games so I won't see this one until I see that one.
