If you look at the numbers, Yes Captain America: The Winter Solider is the winner of Easter weekend. Yet, if you look past the horror that is Transcendence, there is a new terror on the horizon. A Haunted House 2 took in over 9 million dollars this weekend. This mans a third film is probably already in the works. Captain America and Rio sequels did decent numbers for a holiday weekend, that at least three religious films in it. I truly doubt that Captain America can do it one more time.

Ray Subers of Box Office Mojo had this report: “The Marvel sequel added $26.6 million this weekend, which represents a light 36 percent decline. It reached $200 million on Sunday, and should pass Thor: The Dark World in the next few days.

Rio 2 repeated in second place with $22.5 million. Its 43 percent drop was much steeper than the first Rio's 33 percent dip on the exact same weekend in 2011. Through 10 days, the animated sequel has grossed $75.4 million”.

This weekend Maniacs, we have the option of seeing The Quiet Ones or one of Paul Walker’s last film, Brick Mansions. Which will it be? Unofficially the summer begins the weekend after that with the Amazing Sider-Man 2.

Transcendence was easily one of the worst and confusing movies I have ever watched.  What the hell is Johnny Depp doing to his career ?  Awful movie.  Rob should have given this a F.

Brillant for Marvel to have Cap open up so early instead of a packed summer schedule.

I dunno about The Quiet Ones.  I mean, does every horror movie trailer these days have to start out with the pronouncement of "Based on true events?"  That right there is often enough to turn me off.  At least from a theater viewing.  Putting that aside, it doesn't exactly scream originality.  Looks like another movie about evil spirits being awakened and pissed off through a seance, complete with some chick bent over backwards with something shooting out of her mouth.  I think I've seen that movie before.  On a lighter note, anyone seen Bad Milo?  I watched it on Netflix the other night and it was a great dark comedy horror flick.  I'd explain it here, but it's probably better if you just look it up and read the synopsis yourself.  In short, a dude has a lot of pent up stress and it manifests itself in the form of an ass demon.  Yep.

As for Brick Mansions, I kinda wanna see it.  If for no other reason than some cool fights and parkour.  I've always been fascinated by that shit.  And I hear it's basically a remake of the French action film, District B13.

It was a good idea to put GotG near the end of the summer movie season as well.

And as for Transcendence, I'm actually wanting to see it now after everyone is talking about how awful it is.  I wanna see this myself now.  Kinda like a train wreck or a horrific car accident on the side of the road.  You can't help but stare.  But I'm probably not gonna waste my money on a full price ticket.  I'll probably hit it up Tuesday night at Bow Tie Cinema's $6 Criterion Club night.

Transcendence is dead in the water,  Depp is pretty much done for.  I really hope the rumours that Marvel has inquired about him being Doctor Strange is just that a rumour.   He would most certainly give them their first flop and set that franchise back forever

I finally saw Cap.  That was awesome man.  Loved that movie.  If I had one critique it was almost that there was too much action...lol.  Loved the mid credits scene.  Great movie.

I read that Marvel and Depp did have discussions a couple years ago about a Doctor Strange movie but they couldn't come together on it. Just like Tom Cruise was almost Tony Stark. If that had happened the MCU would have died on the vine.

Cut off one head, two more shall take it's place!!!

Hail Hydra, Yo!!!!!

Nemesis, I gotta disagree with you. Not about how bad Trancendance is but about Depp being done for. He's not he'll be around for a long while.

Higgy Capt was good but it felt more like an action movie than a Superhero movie.
