Hope you had a great holiday weekend Maniacs. So did you venture out to see Spike Lee’s version of Oldboy? Perhaps it was Disney’s Frozen that got your hard earned dollars? This weekend may have been about turkey and stuffing, but it once again belonged to The Hunger Games sequel. Catching Fire has now doubled its budget in grosses. Thor: The Dark World, on the other hand, is over the half a billion mark, world wide.

Sorry Manics that this is not the full box office report that you are use to seeing. Our usual resource for the box office numbers, Box Office Mojo, was down at post time. This week our numbers come from IMDB.com.

We are less than two weeks away from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The hype is in full swing now from Warner Brothers. What movie will hold you over until then? Will it be Out of the Furnace or Last Days on Mars?

Took the kids to go see Frozen. Great movie. Best Disney flick i've seen since Tangled. We saw the 2D. My eyes and wallet can't handle 3D.

 LOL @ Oldboy.

Dazzler 12/2/2013 4:02:17 AM

No Oldboy near me either.  I will wait for cable.

Good Lord, there's sink-holes even on Mars!

I would LIKE to see Oldboy...but I'm certainly not going to drive 60 miles to the nearest theater showing it.  So ridiculous!

I do not understand how "Oldboy" played in so few theaters.  With a big-name director and big-name actors I didn't think this was possible.  There has been a lot of bad press surrounding this movie.  I was very interested in it when i saw the first trailer several months ago, but as I read more about it my interest faded.

I did see "Homefront" this weekend, I liked it, Franco can certainly play a white trash drug lord.

I'm kind of surprised.  Thought the family-friendly Frozen would take top billing, as the previews have looked pretty good.  HG2 was a pretty decent flick, too, so I'm not that surprised.

As for me, I spent my Saturday night in Jordan-Hare stadium in Auburn watching the 2013 Iron Bowl.  Holy Crap, was that an epic event to experience!  Y'all may have heard about that game (coverage of it has only been on every single TV channel I've seen since then).

I hope you all had as good of a Thanksgiving weekend as this Auburn fan did...  :)

millean..............WOW..................greatest college football game ending ever.  Still can't believe how it ended,

millean 12/3/2013 6:18:07 AM

Yeah, it was absolutely fantastic.  Wish everyone could experience something like that in person.

Almost as much fun as the game has been watching all of the fan reaction videos of it on YouTube! :)

@millean, My brother was at the Iron Bowl with his wife. They are a house divided Alabama/Auburn! He was on the field after the game. Best sports moment i've ever seen in my 40 years. Someone has got to do a doc on the Auburn 2013 season!
