Cant wait for Gangster Squad. Love me some gangster movies.
I saw Zero Dark Thirty and while it was good I got bored with it.

Why no mention of A Haunted House? Sure it looks like crap but its genre and it releases next week. Also, it looks better than Scary Movie 5.
I knew a lot of folk would be bored with Zero Dark Thirty, mainly thinking that it would be more action with field missions. I thought it was pretty great showing the bureaucracy and the way some decisions are made along with the real life espionage.
I enjoyed Texas Chainsaw Massacre, not great, but you know what you're paying to see. Leatherface family man, at the very least it's a new spin on the character going forward. But he has to be one old mother effer which explains why he got his butt kicked. Still I'd see a sequel
This is 40 was decent, not great but it has its moments for sure. The lady of the house wanted to see it so I went against hanso's recommendation. I have wasted 2 hours on less so no regrets here.
Still surprised that TCM took the top spot.
Glad to see films like Jack Reacher and Lincoln still pulling in some coin
Zero needed for Bin Laden to pull a Tony Montana at the end make it more exciting :)
I saw Django Unchained yesterday. It was... interesting.
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I enjoyed it very much until the part where Shultz killed Candie and then, what had been a reasonably realistic movie about the evils of slavery turned into a cartoon. Complete with Django shooting a guy holding dynamite and having him explode, in a scene straight out of Bugs Bunny. If Tarantino had continued to play it straight it would have been a better movie.
As far as Django and this will be ***SPOILERS*** material so if you don't want to know don't read,
The part where Shultz killed Candie seemed really out of character in that he was so cautious up until that point even lecturing Django about going to far into character. He basically doomed Django and his wife at that point to slavery because he couln't eat crow for the sake of the goal. I understand Tarantino had to position the characters so Django could come out triumphant, it just seemed like he could have done that better.
DiCaprio was great and Samuel L. Jackson, as usual in a Tarantino film, ate the scenery up as the toady house slave.
goldeneyez that was my biggest peeve too which I mentioned on the review thread. King was just too calculating all the time. And considering the line of business he was in seeing dogs tearing up a slave although gruesome it shouldn't have been something to push him over the top and blow their entire mission.
The cartoonish violence karas brings up didn't bother me. I expect that from QT so it didn't take me out of the film
I saw This is 40 with the Mrs as well. I liked it and so did she. I guess it's because we can relate to these people since we turned 40 recently and have 2 daughters close to the same age as in the movie. I also take a shit playing Scrabble on my Ipad and love cupcakes.
I wish my wife had an employee that looked like Megan Fox though....
I just got back from seeing it. I enjoyed it, thought it played off the original very well. Sequel was already announced.
