I saw Total Rekal.  Not sure why they did not name it that since it was spelled differently in movie. 

With a few small changes they could have had it's own orginal movie with story.  Visually great movie.

I can't believe they slammed obama that way in the movie also.  *minor spoiler*  He caused the global  chemical war with others they showed on some paper money.  Assuming he got a 2nd term of course which is REAL science fiction.  It's nice to see movie makers take a chance politically like that. 

Tried to see Recall this weekend but was too busy.  Their biggest mistake was hiring Ferrel as the lead. His star had fallen about 6 years ago so why on Earth put him in a big budget movie as the lead?

They slammed obama in the movie?  Cool...though I find it funny you libs that have a problem with it don't have a problem when Hollywood slams a conservative but hey, in my lifetime I've learned libs have a double standard. Do as I say, not as I do.

If early reviews for Bourne are good, it will knock Batman off the top spot next week.

Went to see total recall and it is a shame that a movie about life on mars was more believeable than the remake on earth, and just like in Bats why do plots become so #^((!#&  stupid whenever there is a bomb with a count down timmer????

As for the box office total it is not all that surprising, and for those interested in the totals TDKR made 354 mil in 17 days, The Avengers made 457 in the same time. that should be close enough for your 20 day total HOA

Saw Total Recall. It was basically the same as the original in plot and even many scenes with a little Bourne Identity thrown in. If I were a filmmaker I wouldn't have done it unless I could have done something different with the story.

Production Design and FX were fantastic. I felt like I wanted to explore those cities the same way  I would in Blade Runner. Action scenes were great as well.

Nothing special about the acting.While with Matt Damon in the Bourne movies I identified and lived the story through his feelings. Colin Farrell for me, however just seem to read the lines and do the movements. Probably a problem in acting style and director's execution.

My bottom line: It's a great looking FX blowt-stuf-up-reel-guud action flick with no depth in story or action. If that's what you want you shouldn't be disappointed.

Dazzler, Hobbs I didn't see or hear any digs at Obama. Was it in the dialogue? I only saw the Obama cash and thought that they might get some people mad at them and they should have also had some Reagan money mixed in there, too.

I saw the Batman film yesterday.  It really delivered.  Perhaps it didn't fall so much because, due to the shooting, people who wanted to see the movie decided to wait a few weeks for the furor to die down.  Like me.

Hobbs, you said it man, with regards to the liberal/conservative slamming.  None of it (either way) really has a place in the entertainment business, if you ask me.

Haven't seen TR yet, but might at some point.  Honestly, from the reviews I'm hearing, I'd probably go see Bats again before TR.  Maybe this (pseudo) Bourne flick will be worthwhile.   Been slammed with work, and it doesn't look to let up until a deadline the 2nd weekend in September.  Will be nice to have a life again...

 As much as I hate to admit it I think Bourne Legacy will knock batman down. Bourne Legacy has been on my watch list so really looking forward to it. I think the week after that is Expendables 2. Money is flying out of my pocket on these movies this year.

In the article Yahoo did on their box office report this weekend they said movie studios have hired research firms to see if the shooting is having and effect on box office and if it will in the coming months. Turns out it has. Twenty percent of the people who were surveyed by the firms said they were to scared or depressed about going to the movie theatre. I know TDKR wasn't going to beat Avengers but it would have been nice to see how much it would have made without the tragedy. Oh well. It was a good flick to me, that's all that matters.
