Oh, I was a bit unclear in my post.  When I was referring to "new and old" Bond, I meant Craig's version.  He was the new recruit just a few short years ago (although, he was a bit old to finally be getting his 00 status) and now, suddenly, he is facing middle age and burn out.

I never really put much stake in the continuity part of the franchise.  The movies rarely followed any sort of real pattern until recently.  They had a beginning, a direct sequel and a pseudo retirement with Craig's Bond.

And, I completey agree with you.

I still find CR superior to Skyfall.  Mainly because it truly used the source material (and, Skyfall fell back on some of the same scenarios which made it a little tired at points.)  They have a whole library of books that have been used in name only.  It would be nice if they went back to that well.   Bond's backstory was actually Fleming's way of incorporating into his books the fact that Connery was Scottish.  Nice nod to the fans of the literary character.

As for the Lincoln play.... well Hanso I think it has the potential to be Spielberg of old... well at least I hoping for that. Besides it should be topical as it will be at huge Oscar contender.

I hope they remake "Jaws" into a killer in the series again.  Bond needs a big badass to fight again.

hanso I will take that point frame it, polish it, shine it, worshipt it and show it off for as long as I live
