I must agree. Mr. Oldman is actually one of the most underrated actors around. He can slip into any accent and any role with ease. For him to be cast is an honor.
I saw this a few weeks ago on IFilm. I have to say that it was VERY clever! If someone had never seen or heard of "The Shining" and had seen this clip, they would have been fooled! Incredible job!
This is what drives me crazy. You spend time and money to buy the individual seasons. Then they decide to release them all in a nice package! It's just greedy!
First of all, welcome. It takes a brave individual to face the wrath of die-hard readers of this column.
Which brings me to a small gripe. You mention Star Trek and Babylon 5, but not Space:1999?
And I love Britcoms, especially Python, Fawlty Towers, Keeping Up Appearances and Are You Being Served.
I have GOT TO GET THIS!!!!!
I heard when the first one was released that it really didn't have much going for it. So I knew that a better edition would come down the road.
And I do agree with you on the "multiple bites of the apple." It gets incredibly irritating that studios treat the general public like complete idiots.
R.I.P. Mr. Spencer. You will be sorely missed.
There's a problem with them saying that Leo died. In an earlier episode, which was set 3 years in the future, Leo had a heart attack and recovered. There is a rumor that the character may end up being recast.
I hope that they will release "Threshold" too.
I really enjoyed the film when I first saw it in theaters (And bought the DVD after midnight the day it was released). However, the ending with the son popping up at the house at the end did bug me a bit. Spielberg's direction, John Williams's score, and Cruise's acting worked well with each other. The aliens (That are never referred to as Martians, by the way)looked fantastic (And the sounds they made were spooky!)and resembled pretty much what H.G. Welles wrote.
